Paige's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You know for a first official date, not counting the ice skating, you'd think that the guy wouldn't take you to his on freaking campus mansion to see his family."
We were driving up the driveway of Andrew's mansion. Andrew's HUGE mansion, I might add.
"They wanted to meet you! Trust me, I did not choose this."
We walked up the fancy walkway to the door. Andrew rang the bell and we waited. He glanced over at me.
"Don't worry, you're going to do fine. Just be yourself."
I grinned. "Really?"
"Yes. Absolutely. Give them a surprise."
Then the door opened. Andrew's parents stood in the frame of the doorway. You could tell they were rich because they had extremely expensive clothes on. Andrew spoke first.
"Mom, Dad, this is Paige, my girlfriend."
"Hello Paige. Nice to finally meet you. We've heard a great deal about you." Andrew's dad extended his hand out to me. I shook it.
"It's nice to meet you too, Mr. Jennings."
"Please, call me Steve."
"Okay, Mr. Steve. By the way, I love your work."
"Thank you!"
Andrew piped up. "She's a tap dancer, Dad. A really good one."
"Is that so?" Andrew's dad said as his eyebrows spiked upwards in interest.
"Yes, sir, I've been tapping since 4."
"You'll have to show me a dance then."
I started to grin like an idiot.
"Yes, sir, Mr. Tap Dancing god, sir."
Andrew and his Dad laughed. Their laugh was almost identical. Andrew's Mom didn't.
"This is my wife, Darlene."
We shook hands.
Mr. Jennings seemed much more likable than Mrs. Jennings. I could already tell she didn't like me by the look on her face. Mr. Jennings led us into the extravagant foyer.
"The dining room is this way... Dinner should be ready in a few minutes."
"Cool."
Mr. Jennings started to lead me into the dining room. I looked over my shoulder. Andrew was talking in hushed tones with his mother.
"Andrew, are you coming?"
He shot his mother a look and walked over to me. I raised my eyebrows as he gave me a look that said, we'll talk about it later. I nodded very minimally. He took my hand and squeezed it. I squeezed it back. He released my hand as we walked into the dining room. There were two people sitting next to each other, bickering. They both looked up as we walked in. One was a pretty girl who looked a few years older than I did. She had the same features Andrew did, except she had brown eyes. The other was a boy, probably a few years younger than I was. The boy had blue eyes like Andrew, but lighter brown hair. Andrew introduced them.
"Paige, this is my sister Laurie and my brother Cameron."
"What's up, guys?"
"Sup?" Cameron said.
Laurie walked over to me. "Hi! I'm Laurie! It's so nice to finally meet you!" She shook my hand.
After all of the introductions, we had dinner. Andrew's mom kept shooting glares at me like she was mad at me. After dinner, Andrew, Cameron and I threw the football around. Cameron was shocked that I could throw better than him. (He was the quarterback on his high school team. It wasn't very suprising that he sucked and that he was the quarterback, high school football teams were just a bunch of weaklings. I mean, just look at Kyle and Seth!) It wasn't too long before Andrew and I were talking in front of the door to my room.
"So, what did you think of everybody?" He asked me.
"They were great Andrew. Your Dad is fabulous." I said as I smiled.
"I knew you would like my Dad." Andrew said as he looked down at his hands and smiled.
"Oh! What was with your mom? She kept giving me glares!"
Andrew rolled his eyes and looked up at me. "She's... It's hard with her. She doesn't like me dating people that aren't..."
"Oh I get it. She doesn't like it that I'm not social."
"Kind of. She doesn't really like it that I'm not dating Britney anymore..."
"Whoa. Your mom liked Britney? That explains everything!"
He bit his lip and nodded. I reached into my sweatshirt pocket for my keys and pulled them out to unlock the door. We both walked in and crashed onto the bed, laying with our feet hanging off the edge next to each other. Andrew's hand found mine and laced his fingers through mine.
I closed my eyes and smiled.
