Also, in this chapter I introduce a thing called Trio Field Hockey. IT IS NOT A THING. I MADE IT UP FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE STORY!! (Basically what I'm saying here, is that I don't want a bunch of angry field hockey people to be mad and hunt me down. I know it's not a thing, I know field hockey isn't in the Olympics. So, if you're a field hockey player reading this, please don't hunt me down.)
**These are characters of my own creation!! I did not steal them from anyone else :D**
Paige's POV (Time Lapse!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
November passed in a blur of homework, classes, stuffed turkey, and football. I had gone back to my parents' house for Thanksgiving weekend. It was great to see everybody again, especially my brothers. I had missed them more than I thought I did. Brett, Seth and I talked about field hockey for a few hours, and we agreed to meet at least once or twice a week starting in March to practice and prep ourselves for the Olympian tryouts. It had been a dream of ours to compete in Trio Field Hockey in the Olympics for years, ever since we were little, and it was just now starting to come true. We had been invited last spring to come and tryout. When we got the official letter in the mail during the summer, Seth fainted. Like literally fainted. Kyle and I had to carry him to the couch and Kyle, Brett and I ended up splashing cold water on his head to try wake him up. He didn't wake up even after that. (What can I say? My brothers are heavy sleepers like I am. Where do you think I get it from?) Then Ryan got involved. Let me just give you a tip: When you are in a vulnerable situation like this one, you would NOT want Ryan there. We've all had our fair share of Ryan's pranks and paybacks. He ended up sitting on Seth until he woke up.
When Seth finally woke up, Ryan said, "Guys, look! Sleeping Beauty has come out of her terrible curse!" And then Ryan bent down and kissed Seth on the cheek.
Kyle, Brett and I were rolling on the floor, we were laughing so hard! Seth, on the other hand, wasn't too happy after that. As for school, I was getting top grades in everything. I was so happy with my hard work, I could barely even stand it. And for Andrew, I had barely even seen him since we ice skated that night after I tackled Duke. I hadn't even talked to him. Sometimes, his adorable smile pops into my head and I can't get it out. Then I end up thinking about him, like the way he laughs and his eyes and ugh. What am I thinking? I have a useless crush that may as well be flushed down the toilet. I have been chatting regularly with Drewords, though. Since we've been in college, we have only grown closer than ever. It was starting to bug me about who he was though. I can't see how he delt with the annoyance of not knowing who I am all of these years. As soon as I got the time, I was going to type up a lengthy message telling him who I really am, and hopefully he won't blow me off completely after that. I don't think that he would have it in him to do that to me.
Seth and I drove back to CNYU the Saturday after Thanksgiving. (Seth is in his last year at CNYU, whereas Ryan, Kyle and Brett have already graduated and gotten jobs. Ryan and Brett have steady girlfriends, but we don't see them much.) We took shifts driving since it's about an eight or nine hour drive from where my parents live, seven if you're lucky. We got there at about 5 in the morning. At least we could sleep in really late the next day! My family is known for being able to fall asleep anywhere, and for sleeping all day. And by all day, I mean all day. One time, I woke up at 5. In the afternoon. I only woke up because my brothers dumped a bucket of cold water on my head. I swore revenge and beat them in a nerf war the next day. Seth and I both got out of the car.
"Take care of yourself, okay Paige? I get worried about you." Seth said to me.
"Okay, Seth. You know I can take care of myself, though."
"I know, I just..."
"You can come and see me whenever you want! You can walk to my dorm!" My dorm was walking distance from his on campus apartment, but we rarely saw each other. "Training starts in the beginning of March! You'll probably be sick of me by the end of the Olympics next year."
"You're probably right." Seth said as he smiled at me. "Come here, little sis." He enveloped me in a big bear hug.
"See you later, Seth." I said as I walked up to the dorms. I had plans to sleep in until at least noon. Until I heard a voice.
