"who were you talking to ali?" charlie asked as i sat next to him. it sucked, he was in the same year as me and was also in my home room.

"just this guy that came up to me, no one to worry about." i told him.

"i got a text from brad, apparently there might be a vampire attack." he whispered.

i was shocked, "what? when?"

"in about a week or so. we might be able to fight with them for once." he informed.

"finally. maybe brad will finally realise i'm slightly stronger than him at some things." i smirked.

charlie laughed, "i highly doubt it."

"you two, stop talking, or you'll be sent out." the teacher threatened us. we shut up and was registered.

—————

the bell rung and it was the end of the day, after a long ass day. i didn't see grayson again.

"charlie, are you training later?" i asked him.

he nodded, "if there's a fight about to happen then i'm definitely training with brad."

"oh, alright. i'm gonna take the long way home, mind taking my bag?" i asked.

he smiled, "sure. i'll see you later."

"see you." i finished. i gave him a quick hug and went in the opposite direction to him.

i walked to the woods, or ran to the woods. it was my favourite place and i needed to talk to my parents. once the coast was clear, i shifted.

nothing feels better than feeling free.

i ran to my parents tree, and just sat in front of it. just thinking about everything that was happening in my life.

fun fact, when you become an animal, you can talk to other animals, they'll understand you but humans or supernatural creatures in human form can't.

"hey, mom, dad." i said to myself, "i hope you're doing okay."

"me? i'm falling apart, no one knows though apart from you two. brad is controlling and charlie is annoying. bad news, brad is letting me drink now." i told them.

"well, i am seventeen." i laughed and laid down. "good news, i still don't have a boyfriend, dad!"

i stopped talking as if they'd respond. i sighed "i miss you guys. i hope you know that."

"i need to ask, what do purple eyes mean dad? you never told anyone, so i'm just stuck here feeling like an exclusion or not enough for the pack." i asked.

i waited for an answer, nothing. "you'll tell me one day."

but no response as always, but i knew they were with me; not physically but mentally. however, i could sense that someone was with me physically.

i started growling as i stood up and looked around. nothing. no one.

in the distance between two dark trees, there were two blood red eyes in the shadows.

it was laughing.

"brad?" i asked.

nothing.

i continued to growl and tried to look threatening, but they starting laughing and made their way towards me.

it was a wolf, but not a werewolf, a shapeshifter. their fur was midnight black, a deep shade of black.

darkness consumed them.

"what you doing all alone, werewolf?" he asked and circled me.

i sat down and said nothing.

he showed his teeth. he wasn't a shapeshifter, he was a vampire. in this universe, vampires could take many different forms. due to the town having a forest, they take the form of bats and wolves the majority of the time when they weren't sucking out peoples souls.

another thing they had fun doing, was reading people's mind. luckily, that only worked on people who could fall for those tricks. i couldn't.

"why so boring, white wolf?" he asked.

"why be so nosey, blood sucker?" i returned, not making eye contact.

"i'm not. if anything, i'm a peace maker." he told me.

i scoffed, "yeah. i don't believe in lies."

i started to walk away but the blood sucked ran in front of me. "my people, want to kill the alphas family. warn them."

"why? why kill them?" i asked as i stopped.

"because, royal blood tastes extra sweet. especially when served fresh. they're not royal, but they're leaders." he informed me.

"tell you're people they're no match for any werewolf and if they come rear our territory we'll slit their throats. got it?" i said as i got in the vampires face.

"your kind always have a tendency to be rude." he said, sarcastically.

"because we're not ancient, unlike you. we're not from the 1800s. good luck with living, vampire." i walked away, but not too far as i was stopped.

"same to you. but quick question, what's with the purple eyes? that's not a wolf color." he pointed out. i didn't know what i was.

"back off." i growled.

"huh. you should probably find out before your pack is killed." he smirked.

he pushed passed me and for some reason, that triggered a nerve and i scratched his neck, the cut was deep. i couldn't tell you why i did it, i wasn't sure why.

he growled at me and then ran away.

it was a strange encounter, but i wouldn't forget it.

i shifted back and started to walk home, dreading what brad was going to tell me. "don't go near vampires, stay away from them." but that one didn't give a intimidating vibe.

he was warning me, whilst attempting to look nasty. it was just strange.

"brad is going to love what i tell him." i said to myself as i approached the pack house.

i was terrified that he was going to kill me.
