Blank Mind, Nothing But Christmas Lights

Better late than ever,

Merry Christmas to all my dear friends!

It's okay, you made it through another year. I'm very proud.

Now just take this in,

The wind is nonexistent, outside the window, the cold, thin snow is falling. It collapses and collects. The lined up cars have a thin blanket of snow on top. The trees stand still and leafless, holding on to the snow falling in every branch.

Every house is decorated with lights. The all-white and rainbow lights hang in the porch, illuminating it; the railings of the stairs light the way down. The front lawns adorn with yellow-green grass and the bushes and young pines light with gorgeous rainbow lights. Light escapes through the windows. The roofs are now covered in snow and there is smoke coming out of the chimney, vanishing into the dark, empty night sky.

Inside, the tree illuminates the place. Lights hang and ornaments swing in the branches, reflecting light into everyone's happy smiles. The tables are full of unfinished food and a gorgeous Poinsettia blushes to everyone who praises her beauty. The sound of laughs and talking consumes the air, and everything feels right.

It's alright if it's not even Christmas where you are, it's okay if you don't even celebrate, but let yourself be consumed into the beautiful Christmas night.

It's okay if your Christmas was a hell, if it was lonely and sad, it doesn't need to be. Let yourself feel content and hopeful. If you feel it enough, maybe your Christmas was great, even if it wasn't real. Just be happy, just be okay. Because you are okay, and most of all, you're not alone.

I am here, spending a Christmas with you.

My Christmas had no snow, not every house was adorned with lights and I barely heard any laughs nor did I not feel content but I hope I do with you.

Let us spend this Christmas together, even if it's not real. Maybe if we believe it enough, it will be.
