Where Have You Been?

Melissa P.O.V.

Here it is 12:00am and Alonzo is not home. I've called him several times and texted him. No response. I know we got into it before he left but never have I expected him to act like this.

I picked up my phone again and called. His phone rung several times and right before I hung up he answered. His voice was groggy.

"Hello."

"Where the hell are you?" Melissa said with a attitude.

"First of all why are you yelling in the phone?" Alonzo asked.

"Where are you Alonzo?"

"Why? I was asleep when you called me. What is it? Is it an emergency?" Alonzo asked annoyed.

"Alonzo where are you?" Melissa asked again.

"I'm out clearing my mind. What are you calling in reference to?"

"Wow so we have come to this?" Melissa asked.

"You brought us to this Melissa. I'm not gonna argue with you about this. Goodnight I'll see you later today. I got rounds in a few hours."

Alonzo hung the phone up on me. I tried to call him back and he didn't answer. I can't believe he's doing this. We are married and he's acting like I don't exist.

I laid down in the bed and just stared at the ceiling. I picked up the phone and called Jason.

"Hello." Jason said.

"Hey Melissa wassup?" Jason said excited.

"I'm sorry to wake you. I had a lot on my mind." Melissa said sadly.

"What's wrong?" Jason asked sitting up in the bed.

"Alonzo didn't come home tonight." Melissa said.

"Really?! Where is he?" Jason asked.

"I don't know he wouldn't say." Melissa said.

"Wow. I'm sorry hun is there something I can do?" Jason offered.

"Can you talk to me?" Melissa asked Jason.

"Sure I can. What you want to talk about?"

"How do you know if your spouse is cheating?"

"Well it's a lot of ways you can tell. But as for a man you will see all types of signs. That's one of the signs there. Not coming home at night."

"I knew it. I feel he's cheating."

" I'm sorry to hear that if he is. Is there something I can do?" Jason asked putting on his charm.

"Yeah can you come over or I come over to your place?" Melissa said boldly.

"Sure come on." Jason said.

"I'll be there in a little bit."

I got in my truck and backed out the driveway and went to Jason's house.
