Columbus Short was just moving into his new apartment when he saw his neighbor coming up to her door. He immediately stopped in his tracks and said excuse me mam do you live here? Angela smiles and said yes I do. You my new neighbor? Actually I am. Hey my name is Columbus Short what's yours? My name is Angela Crews. Angela Crews hmm nice to meet you. So you live here by yourself or...wait let me stop you Angela said. I do live here by myself but I don't take no mess off nobody. Wait I didn't mean it like that I was just curious. Curious to what Mr Short? I mean you are fine and I just thought maybe...oh you want to know if I got a man? Well yeah I mean do you? Angela smiles and said nice to meet you Mr Short and walked in her apartment.

Columbus licked his lips and continued moving his boxes in. Damn that girl was fine he told his homeboy in the apartment. Was she now. Man I got to have her Ace. Man calm down you have only known here all over 5 minutes. How you know she ain't no stalker. Man come on dude don't talk like that yo. I mean bruh this is not 1800s this 2018 yo and I don't put nothing pass nobody feel me.

Ace Mitchell has been my homie since I was in high school. His mom and my mom has been friends since then. They work together at the Grady Hospital so we was kind of forced to be friends. I can't complain though I love my boy to death. Sometimes he can be a little too outspoken but that's what I loved the most about him. He told you how he felt and didn't care if it hurt your feelings or not.

Ace you gonna help me or just sit there and talk trash? Now I can sit here but would that shut your mouth? Hell naw so I guess I'll help. They both laughed and continued packing the house.

So does this mean I get the biggest room? Fool you got to be out your mind if you think that yo. Come on now Columbus you always get the big room and want to give me these baby rooms. That ain't cool yo. Man both of these rooms big as hell just pick one damn. You such as cry baby. Your mama. They both laughed. Ace cell phone rung. Yo this Ace. Are you kidding me? Y'all can't never do nothing right I'm on the way. What's wrong Columbus asked. Man they done messed up the drop let me go fix it I'll be back. Give me 45 minutes. Alright I'll be here bro. Ace leaves to go take care of the mess his crew caused leaving Columbus unpacking.

Columbus:
I really want to get to know Angela. While Ace smart mouth ass gone I'm going to go knock next door. Columbus walks next door and knock. Angela open the door with a smile on her face. You loose something? Columbus chuckled and said nah but it's clear that we got a spark going here. Really now how you figure? I just know ma. Are you gonna invite me in? Angela looked at him and said and why would I do that? Cause you want to know me just like I want to know you. Don't flatter yourself Angela spat back. Look I don't know who hurt you in the past but I'm not that guy. Give a nigga a chance. I ain't trying to get you in the bed ma I just want to get to know you. Angela sighed come in.

This is a nice place you got here. Thanks Angela said. Have a seat. But don't get too comfortable cause you ain't staying long. Damn ma you so mean. What you want? So how old are you? Angela laughed damn that's how you start a convo? They both laughed hey I'm just saying. Well I'm 28 what's your digits? Columbus laughed I'm 30. You have any kids? No she said but I do want some in the future. You? Nah I don't have any but I do want some as well. You got a nigga? No I actually don't. And what about you? Nah I don't have a nigga. They both laughed. You know what I'm mean. He smiled nah Ma I don't have a lady. I did but things didn't work out. Why if you don't mind me asking? Columbus got quiet. Actually I'll rather not talk about that right now. I understand said Angela. Hey you want something to drink since you determined to stay? It depends on what you got Columbus said. Well I got water juice and some wine. Is it red wine? And you know it. I'll take a glass of that.

Angela:
So what do you do for a living? Does it matter said Columbus. I just asked since we talking ain't no need for the smart mouth. He chuckled just asked but I own a night club and a restaurant. Wow which one? Club Boom and The restaurant Columbus. You are the Columbus? Yeah that's me. Dang I didn't even know. And what is it that you do? I deliver babies. Oh wow. I didn't think you would like that. They both laughed. Well it's getting late and I need to study I got a exam tomorrow. You in school? Yes I go to Grady University. Wow that's wassup. Well look I'm next door me and my boy Ace grilling a little later you welcome to come by. Thanks Angela said I'll keep that in mind. Columbus got up to walk to the door and turned around. Hey look Ma can I have your number and call you sometimes I mean if you want me to. Angela laughed and took his phone and put her number in. Don't be a stranger. Columbus smiles and said I will definitely be calling. She said you sure about that? He laughed and said Indeed. As Columbus was walking back to his apartment Ace came up.

Ace: Damn nigga you already creeping next door. They both laughed nah man just want to get to know my neighbors. Look we not gonna have another Renee are we? Nah man and why bring her up. I'm just saying that trick was crazy and I just don't want to see nothing come between you and your sanity again. Nah bruh I'm good let's go and get this house up so we can get the food from the store to start the cookout. I invited Angela over. Oh did you now. Yeah nigga I did you got a problem. Hell nah said Ace cause I invited bae over too. So Mariah coming yeah she should be off from work now going to get ready. When you gonna ask that girl to marry you man. That's been going on for sometime now. All in good time grasshopper Ace said. Man you a fool and they both laughed.
