Chapter Two: Unlucky
"Come out right now! We got your apartment surrounded!"
I just came out from the bathroom and heard sirens and shouting outside my window. Shit...
I took a peek out the window and saw like, six police cars! Oh and the guy from yesterday... standing outside a brand new car?! He was smirking at me. Urggg!! I just want to smack that smirk off his pretty face!!
Then the police started shooting. I let out a high pitched scream and ducked under the window. What the hell?!
Then the song Miss Moving On played. Again... what the hell?!
----------- WAKING UP -----------------
I suddenly jerked up. I was sweating uncontrollably. That's when I realized that the song was coming from my cheap flip phone.
That was a nightmare! I swallowed hard and glanced out the window, just to make sure.
Luckily, I wasn't going to get arrested, at least not today or right now. I glanced at the clock, which read 6:00am. I groaned. Time to get ready for school.
I went to brush my teeth and take a quick shower. I quickly put on my uniform, put on some mascara and lip gloss and rushed out of my room.
"Ow!" I yelped as I bumped into my roommate and best friend, Anne. She glared at me, even though it was her fault too.
"You almost ruined my hair!" She pouted. Yup, Anne is obsessed with her look, but I love her anyway.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed a granola bar from the kitchen.
"Sorry, princess."
"You better be, you peasant." Anne said jokingly. I gave her a look.
"Well, we better get going now or we'll be late for school." I picked up my beat-up bag and started for the door.
"Where were you yesterday? I didn't see you at your locker. Are you okay?" I glance back to see a worried-looking Anne.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that after I was chased by that guy. My eyes started to tear up.
No Jess, you are not going to ruin your make up because of him. It's his loss. I looked down at my feet, willing myself to stop the tears from escaping.
I looked up at Anne. She deserves an explanation. I sighed.
"I'll tell you on the way to school." So as we walked to school, I told Anne the story. She gave a hug at the end.
"I knew he was bad for you." Anne muttered quietly. I laughed a bit. Anne and Jack never got along. "Hey, tell you what. I'll buy ice cream and junk food and we can drool over hot guys, okay?"
I nodded. Just what I needed. Food and movies always made me feel better.
"Hey, what's that commotion up ahead?" I looked at Anne, who had her eyebrows knitted together in confusion. I looked to where she was looking.
There was a crowd. We went to check it out until... I spot that guy from yesterday. I am so dead.
I wanted to hear what he was talking about, so instead of running away like a normal person would, I covered my face with my brown hair and ducked my face.
"...anyone saw a girl with brown hair and brown eyes? She dropped something, and I want to return it to her." He was saying.
I rolled my eyes. Yeah right. All of a sudden, my eyes met his. His eyes widen in recognization and he tries to run to me.
"Anne I gotta go!!" I yelled before I ran as fast as I can to the school, hoping that he wouldn't follow me.
"You! Stop!" He shouted as he got through the crowd, who was looking at us.
I ran into the school and weaved through the crowd. I was glad that I was small. I let out a sigh of relief as I rounded the corner. I lost him.
Ethan's POV
As I finished my speech, I caught the eyes of someone familiar. Wait... It's the girl who destroyed my car!
