Chapter 13: Unbelievable
Liam;
Tracy's cancer free. She's healthy. No more hospital trips, surgery's, scares. She made it.
"Why didn't you call me?" Louis asked, shocked.
"I tried! Every minute of every day! I kinda, dropped my phone in the toilet. But I called you before it died. I had to get a new phone. And because I lost all my contacts and didn't memorize all the boys numbers in time, I couldn't call them either!" Tracy laughed, out of breath. Louis couldn't be mad at her. He pulled her into another hug, whispering how much he loved her. "Do you guys wanna go home now?" She giggled after Lou released her. We nodded and followed her to her car. She hopped into the front seat, Lou sitting beside her, with us four squeezed into the back. She turned on the radio as soon as the car turned on and flicked through the channels looking for something good.
"You're insecure. Don't know what for." Started playing. We all stayed silent and waited for Tracy's reaction. She paused and left it there, continuing to drive.
"These lads are pretty good" Lou commented, waiting for a reply.
"Mm their alright" She mumbled, turning onto a different street. Louis looked back at us with a worried look. "They aren't the best."
"What do you mean they aren't the best?" Harry asked.
"I mean, they aren't the best." She snapped. I thought she liked our singing? "I'd rather hear them live." She said, clicking the button to turn off the radio and stopping at a red light. She turned to look at us. "I'm not stupid, I knew that was you guys" She laughed.
"You're a tease!" Louis chuckled.
"Now sing!" Tracy demanded as the light turned green. Lou looked back at us and mouthed 'One Thing'. We nodded and I cleared my throat.
"I've tried playing it cool. But when I'm looking at you. I can't ever be brave. 'Cause you make my heart race." I started. A smile spread across her face as Harry continued.
When we arrived at the house, we got all of our bags out and made our way to the front door, Tracy trailing behind us.
"Go ahead it's open" She said when she realized we were waiting for her to unlock the door.
"SURPRISE!" I heard as the door opened. I looked around and saw everyone. My family, Niall's family, all the boys families. Balloons were scattered everywhere and there was a sign that said 'Welcome Back'. I could tell Tracy made it, it was colorful and sparkly.
"Whoa." Was all that any of us could say.
"Liam!" I heard my mum shout. I smiled and hugged her. What a great way to end a tough journey.
The rest of the night went like this. We ate, talked, laughed, and enjoyed ourselves. I was sitting by myself looking around at all the happy faces, when Louis came and plopped next to me smiling.
"What?" I asked, studying his happy expression.
"You should do it now" He whispered.
"Do what?" I asked once again.
"Ask Tracy to be your girlfriend" He stated like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Are you sure Lou?" I asked hesitantly. He nodded and walked away. As if on cue, Tracy walked in front of me and smiled.
"Hi Tracy" I smiled standing up. She took my hand and led me to the backyard, where it was only me and her.
"Liam, I promised you something." She said looking up at me. I raised my eye brow in confusion.
"You did?" I asked, looking into her blue eyes. She nodded and went over to a table where there was a radio. She clicked play and 'The A Team' by Ed Sheeran started playing. She walked back over and slid her hands back into mine.
"I promised that that wouldn't be our last dance." She whispered. I smiled realizing she was right. I slid my hand around her waist and pulled her close. She loosely linked her hands around my neck as we swayed back and forth. I leaned my forehead against her's as we stared into each other's eyes.
"Tracy?" I whispered.
"Liam?" She smiled.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked nervously. She smiled and went on her tip toes to kiss me as the song ended.
"I thought you'd never ask." She giggled when she pulled away. I smiled and pulled her back for another kiss. Lifting her off the ground and spinning her in a circle, not letting go of our kiss. "Liam." She whispered as I pulled away from her and nuzzled my face into her neck.
"Yes?" I replied. She moved her hands into my hair, moving it in circular motions.
"I love you" She whispered. My heart skipped a beat. I've never told anyone I loved them. And I especially have never been told I was loved. But for Tracy, there was no hesitation.
"I love you too" I smiled. Her smile grew and she hugged me, leaning her head against her chest while mine was on her's.
"Tracy! Louis' being mean!" I heard Niall scream, totally ruining the moment. Tracy laughed, turning her head to the boys.
"What did he do this time Nialler?" She asked with a sweet smile.
"He wouldn't do our hand shake!" Niall whined, throwing his hands into the air and then slamming them by his sides like a four year old.
"Niall! Grow up!" I laughed.
"Would it make you feel better if we did our hand shake?" Tracy asked in a baby tone. He nodded his head rapidly as she walked over to him. They must have made this when I wasn't around because I don't remember seeing them EVER doing a handshake.
They started off with a double high five, linking their fingers together, doing that 'london bridge' spin. They bumped each others hips and did a patty cake type thing. I was very impressed.
"Thank you Tracy. Hey Louis! Guess what I just did?!" Niall cheered, running back into the house full of adults and four immature teenagers.
"Impressive! Did you or Niall make that up?" I asked as she walked back over.
"I made it up. Niall agreed and played along." She explained giving a little shrug.
"How come we don't have a hand shake?" I pouted.
"Do you want one?" She asked, me nodding. "Ok, go like this." She said, putting her hands together out in front of her. I did as I was told and waited for the next move. I stood there staring at her hands to see what was next. But they just dropped by her sides. I looked into her eyes and she had a pleading look on her face.
"Aren't we going to make a hand shake?" I asked, disappointed. She stepped forward onto her tip toes and kissed me.
"Can't that just be our hand shake?" She whispered. I smiled and nodded before smashing my lips back down to hers.
