What I wouldn't give

A/N HELLO WELCOME BACK! I've been stupid busy but a note from Geroniny made me just say fuck it let's go sO here we are with a new chapter!!

Juno's POV:

This has been an overall frightening experience.

My time at Jupiter was numbered. I really enjoyed seeing the gas giant, but suddenly, one of its moons knocked me out of orbit. I was flying towards Saturn at 350 Km/s.

I didn't know what to do. I was frantic, until I slammed into Titan.

And then I met Huygens.

Of course I know them- him. All crafts knew about Cassini and Huygens- everyone knew they were in love. And everyone knew Cassini died.

So meeting Huygens, naturally, was tense. It was strange. But sooner or later, he warned up to me.

I've been here a week now. Huygens is kind, and funny. But I just don't know if he really liked me as much as he says. Sure, we look at the stars, and name planets, and he has helped fix my MCU.
But something is off.

Huygens's POV:

Juno is nice. I like him. But he isn't Cassini.
He's friendly, he's adventurous. But he isn't Cassini.
He's nice. He's steady. He's funny.
But he isn't Cassini.

My heart has grown heavier, but I've began to enjoy his company. Recently, we built a structure with Titan's dust, and we went down to the lake and skipped some rocks in it. Saturn looked so beautiful from the sky. But I didn't tell him about Cassini.

"Juno?"
He glanced over to me.
"Yeah?"
"What was Jupiter like?"
He smiled.
"Oh, it was great. All the colors made it look like a painting.. following the storm was amazing. It was so interesting... studying and analyzing it."
There was silence for a few seconds.
"He took you to Saturn, didn't he?"

Juno's POV:

"He took you to Saturn, didn't he?"
I heard him take a deep inhale.
"Yeah. He did."
It changed the mood, my question. I didn't really understand them.. many of the crafts didn't talk to me because I was a, "malfunction." There was supposed to be a better craft. But it was too costly and they sent me instead.
I never reached out.
I heard Dawn and OSIRIS-REx laughing at me when I was knocked out of orbit. So I never talked about it.
"He did a lot..."
"I can imagine."
"That's what he said to me, when I told him-"
Silence.
"Told him what?"
"How much I cared."
Huygens smiled and chuckled a bit.
"He was so great."
"What I wouldn't give..."
"What I would."
