chapter 20

my alarm beeped next to me causing me to groan. I hadn't had much sleep since this kid started to kick. I rolled back over and stuffed my head into my pillow I was really tired. Charlie was already up and came walking in with a mug of coffee and a plate of toast.

"come on love. we're going to headquarters in an hour." Charlie said so I sighed and turned over. wait that means it's July 31st, Harry's birthday.

I ate my toast and got changed into jeans and a baggy top along with some converse and one of Charlie's jackets. I grabbed my mug of coffee and sipped it as I walked to the table. I put the mug and plate in the sink and sat down in front of a birthday card.

happy birthday. sorry we couldn't be with you to help you celebrate and hope that it's not terrible. hope to see you soon.

I sighed and sent it off with my owl. I then gathered my things and walked over to Charlie. we interlocked fingers before apperating in front of a set of houses. we waited a while before the houses began to part and the headquarters revealed its self.

"great your just in time for the meeting." tonks said as we walked in.

we entered the kitchen with tonks tripping over everything. round the table Sat Molly, Arthur, Bill, Dumbledore, snape, Noah, kiara, Sirius, Moody, kingsly, mundugaus, remus and some others I didn't know.

"right. well first off I want to start with this" Dumbledore said passing a news paper around. on the front page were shocking things about Harry and Dumbledore.

"what gives them a right to say anything" kiara asked.

"they didn't know that voldemort would be there, they don't believe he was there. the dementors had already got to crouch before fudge did" Noah said.

"it's fear. he's scared. he won't admit it to himself so he's making every one that does look like there mad" I pointed out.

"it's not like any of us could properly campaign. Charlie's in Romania, bills listening for things in greengotts, remus is a werewolf, Alistair and Dumbledore have supposedly gone mad, Sirius is a supposed mass murderer, kiara and Taylor are being locked up to protect the baby's plus they wouldn't be believed by fudge, mundugaus is a crook and tonks, Arthur, Noah, I and some others here are working for the ministry" kingsly told us.

"but if we can't defend Harry who will" I asked.

"exactly Taylor, has anyone thought how this may effect Harry" Sirius said.

"of course we have Sirius. but there's nothing we can do. now on to the topic of gaining supporters" Dumbledore said quickly

"well I'll do that in Romania" Charlie said.

"I've managed to find some people in the hospital" kiara said.

"I have a list of death eaters in the ministry and in the hospital" Arthur said.

"I've got an eye out for potter" mundugaus called out.

"well the topic changed" I muttered but no one heard me.

"that's all well and good Dumbledore but how are we supposed to protect Harry right now. voldemort or a death eater could go looking for him at any point. they may not be able to do anything to him in the house but outside he's vulnerable to attack" I said pointedly.

"that is true but we are sending for him soon enough. come the middle of August we shall have Harry here" remus said. tonks looked over at him dreamily. what she did what. I need to talk to her.

"yes we need to keep him as out of this as possible. voldemort could raid his mind. I myself will need to keep a distance from him, seeing me could only kick off the fight." Dumbledore said thoughtfully.

"but how's that going to help his confidence. how's that going to help him in general" I said.

"it would make him angry. but maybe the anger at me may keep him from some risk" Dumbledore said.

"but that doesn't make sense albus. like Taylor is basically saying he'll end up feeling isolated, like he's in the wrong" Sirius said.

"that may be, but right now I must be going. we shall Finnish this conversation on Friday" and with that Dumbledore popped out and I took myself off to bed.
