Chapter Thirteen: Party Time
-**Warning**- EXTREMELY SHORT CHAPTER! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
“Surprise!”
I wanted to laugh because I already knew about the party. Harry couldn’t seem to keep his mouth shut when we were talking earlier. Instead of laughing though, I grinned happily and thanked everyone. There was a huge table in the corner of the room filled with presents. I really had no idea who the people in the room were.
Considering the only friends I have are the boys and Charlie, they invited some of their own friends from management and from school. Liam’s girlfriend, Danielle was here, and so was Eleanor, Louis’ girlfriend. They’re both stunning and lovely. And we can’t forget Tiana too. She looks gorgeous tonight.
I kept my head down and tried to be polite to everyone saying happy birthday. I didn’t know what else to say to them really. They aren’t my friends so I don’t know what they’re like.
“Don’t you want to drink?” Zayn was sitting next to me on one of the chairs lined up against the wall. He had a hold of my hand which was placed in his lap. People were dancing in the middle of the room. The party had been going on for two hours now and I was wondering when it was going to finish. Not that I don’t like it, because I love it, but I’m a tad tired and not very good with all this attention.
I shrugged. “I’m not much of a drinker. Besides, the last time I got drunk ended in me not remembering anything.” My cheeks warmed a little bit as I remembered the next morning.
Zayn smiled. “Oh yeah. Well I’m going to get a beer. I’m not supposed to be drinking because of my mum so shh.” He placed a finger to his lips. He had three bottles already so he was a bit drunk. Not too much. “Do you want anything like coke, or fanta?”
“Uh, a sprite please.”
He nodded and then headed over to the open bar. Gosh that must cost so much to have an open bar. There are so many people here. My eyes wavered over the dancing bodies on the dance floor but I couldn’t seem to recognise anyone.
“Feeling a bit lonely?” I turned to my right to see Danielle and Liam.
I smiled at them as they sat down next to me. “Hi guys. Thanks for the presents.”
Danielle grinned. “It’s fine. I’m just glad that there’s another girl. The boys will be outnumbered soon!” She laughed whilst Liam smiled at his girlfriend out of admiration.
“Try living with them.” I added.
“We aren’t that bad.” Liam reasoned. “Well… Louis, maybe. The rest of us not so much.”
I grinned. “You guys should go have a dance. Don’t worry about me.”
Liam shook his head. “Nah, we’re okay. We’ve been dancing all night.”
“And dancing is my job. I have blisters on my heels the size of my head!” Danielle winced. “Besides, you looked a bit lonely sitting here on your own. You looked like you could do with some company.”
I fiddled with my hands in my lap. These people are really nice. I’m so glad to have met them, and so lucky too. They’re amazing. Gave me everything I could have wished for. “Well, thanks. Thanks for everything.”
“No problem,” Danielle smiled softly.
“Whose idea was it for this party, may I ask?” I looked at the gorgeous couple curiously.
They both looked at each other, as though they were having a private conversation, communicating with just their eyes. Whoa, weird. “Hum, it was everyone’s idea,” Liam smiled but it looked a little fake.
