Ever since steven was born his father
Greg hid him from the gems since they hated him so much and he feared that if they got their hands on his son they'd kill him without a minutes hesitation.... Honestly,he also hated the boy as much if not more than the gems did,the only reason steven is still alive is because rose begged him to not kill him and if he did and she came back,the first thing she would do is to kill greg,even though greg wouldn't kill him, it doesn't mean he don't snap at him and beat him up,in fact steven has been send to the hospital almost 10 times before the age of 6 years old,broke his arms twice at 4 years old and his legs broke when he was 7 yo,been burned all over his body by boiling hot coffee and he was beaten up every couple a days by greg and his step mother who married greg two years after his birth, his step mom hated him so much that she once went as far as sending a group of 7 bullies each 6 years older than an almost 7 year old steven who was playing in the park alone to fucking murder him!!,fortunately for steven an adult saved him but the bullies beat him up for 6 mins before the man helped him so he was sent to the hospital,it's truly a miracle he's still alive
"Where's that piece of shit,maia??" Greg asked his wife
"In his bedroom as usual,ugh why didn't you use a condom?!?!"
"Ikr?? That was my biggest mistake ever,speaking of not using condoms,did you do the test yet?? I want a real son,not a freak!"
"I was about to tell you,I'm actually three months pregnant!!"
"Really?! Finally..."
Steven was sitting in his bed,crying, he hated his miserable life,his dad won't buy him toys while his step sister who came with maia,mais,would get a new toy every couple of days by greg and her mom,on the rare occasion that he gets a toy it would last 1 day maximum before either maia or mais destroy it for no reason and he's the one who gets beaten up for that by greg.
Whenever they go out to restaurants they eat and make steven watch them eating the restaurant's finest meals while all he gets is a water bottle
One time steven was so hungry that when the waiter was taking Greg's order which was three of the restaurant's finest and most expensive meals,steven ordered the cheapest thing on the menu,one pizza slice,greg didn't want to make a fool outta himself on public so he didn't say anything... But when he arrived home he threw steven to the wall and started kicking and pouncing him so hard that blood was coming outta his mouth and he went unconscious and was taken to the hospital
