When I came to the first time I was alone but I could hear Jonathan yelling even though I couldn't make out the words.
I found my hands chained above my covered in symbols I didn't recognize.
I managed to glance down to notice that my dress had been changed into a red long sleeved off the shoulder ballgown. I felt incredibly weak until I heard the dungeon door open.
"Ah. The queen has awoken." Abasi hissed making my skin crawl.
"I heard him. I heard Jonathan. What did you do to him?" I asked weakly.
"Oh. Nothing, my queen. Yet."
I wanted to struggle but it felt as if my energy was being drained as my vision blurred again.
"Amya? Amya, wake up." I heard Jonathan's voice through the fog of unconsciousness.
"Uh..." I moaned in pain feeling the full extent of my wounds.
"Amya! Amya, can you hear me?" He asked.
I managed to nod painfully.
"Can your energy break the chains?" He asked gently.
I tried to focus my energy on the chains around my wrists but I was unable to break them. It was as if the chains themselves were blocking my energy.
"I can't." I gasped feeling my legs give out beneath me.
I could still hear his voice but I couldn't make out what he was saying. I could feel my anxiety bubbling up to the surface.
"Jonathan. Jonathan, hush a minute. I can't focus." I almost snapped at hiqm.
"Are you mad at me?" He asked after I opened my eyes after a long moment.
"No, sweetheart. I was feeling overwhelmed. Are you hurt?" I asked taking in his bruises.
"It's not too bad.
"What do I do, Amya? I don't know what to do." He sounded panicked.
"Shhh... It'll be okay, Jonny. Let me think." I urged.
"The lovebirds are reunited." Abasi hissed at us.
"What do you want?" I growled causing him to hit me hard in the stomach.
I could hear Jonathan screaming at him.
"You learn your place, bitch." Abasi growled in my ear.
"I know my place. You learn yours." I hissed earning me a punch to the face.
"I brought the two of you together here because if you were to be allowed to marry on your own the heir would belong to Timbre and not Pyre.
"You see, if you are married in Timbre by Bowen Love, the royal advisor of Timbre then you are viewed as a royal couple of Timbre but if I have you married here by Damon Richards, the royal advisor of Pyre then you'll be a royal couple of Pyre. In short it means when I kill you instead of having an infant ruler the heir shall belong to me."
"Go to hell." I cursed causing him to hit me again.
"You will cooperate and you will give me the heir you owe me!"
"I owe you nothing! I am more than a conduit for an heir!"
He stared at me a moment before leaving the room and dragging Cameron in throwing his unconscious form towards his brother.
"I think you'll do exactly what I want you to do."
I breathed heavily as I watched Jonathan look at his brother.
"Go to hell. Cameron would never forgive me if I bent over to you in his name.
I saw Abasi move towards Jonathan and my instincts kicked in.
"You're... You're nothing but a coward." I forced out.
He stopped and turned on me.
"That's why you're so afraid for us to rule Timbre. He's stronger than you." I growled.
He slammed hard into me causing me to wince in pain.
"Ugh... You're nothing. I'm not afraid of you. He's more of a man than you ever could be."
He grabbed me from the wall and threw me to the center of the room effortlessly breaking my chains. I yelled out as I shot a large ball of purple light towards him.
He came back at me throwing a ball of fire back at me. I managed to get myself close enough to Jonathan and Cameron to cover all of us with a large sheild made of purple light.
My aunt grabbed me hard from behind with a dagger pressed against my throat. I still managed to hold the sheild in front of us.
"How do you think my husband knew about the secret twins? You're fool father gave me whatever I wanted in his weakened state. It wasn't hard to find him with that simpleton as his brother. I snuck up on him and put him to sleep with a rag of chloroform. Simple." She hissed in my ear.
I could feel the fire starting to burn me from her touch. I shoved my shoulders back hard and threw her off of me in a hail of purple energy. I heard her hit the wall behind me.
"Don't talk about him that way."
I could hear the guard rushing down the hallway. I was able to watch as Gunter stabbed Abasi in the back as he continued to shoot fire at us. Slowly the assault of fire stopped.
I breathed heavily as I fell to my knees. I'd used too much energy. I felt Nicolas touch me.
"Get him down. I'm okay. I'm alright. Get him down. Someone check on Cameron." I ordered easing myself over to my side so I could lay down on the hard stone floor. Soon, Jonathan lifted me up into his arms and I drifted back into unconsciousness in his arms.
