We walked back inside and went up to her room. “Tell me all about today!” Lauren just about shouted. We sat down on her bed, and I told her about how we filmed the video and then that I started getting the hate and that Cameron said that it wouldn’t work out if I couldn’t deal with the hate. I told her about how I told him about how we got bullied and that he started crying. “AW! That’s seriously so cute!” Lauren said. “It must have been hard for you to tell him.” She said. “believe me, it was. I was an emotional mess. But then we watched a movie and ate dinner and then came here!” I said. “What did you guys do?” I asked her, talking about her and Nash. “Well, he picked me up at like 12 and we went to a pizza place and it was really fun. Then, he took me to a mini golfing place and he got so competitive but it was hilarious.” I smiled. “Aw, I’m so happy for you guys. Do you think your parents will let you go to North Carolina?” I asked Lauren. She paused and then said “Yeah, they really like him. They’ll probably just have to talk to his mom or something.” I thought for a couple seconds and then said “I hope my parents let me go. But if your parents are okay with it, then maybe mine will be.” We watched girly movies and talked about Cameron and Nash all night.
It didn’t really hit me until the next morning when I woke up that Cam had left. I sat up and sighed. Lauren was still asleep so I went on my phone. I saw hate comments but replayed Cameron’s voice in my head saying ‘Don’t give into the hate, ignore it,’ So I did exactly that. I tweeted out “I will be shooting my video today and uploading it tonight! This video is for you guys to get to know me since you know nothing about me right now. I’ll tweet the video when it’s up!” It was 9:45, so Cam and Nash should’ve been on their plane by now.
I walked home at around 11, fixed my hair and did my makeup for the video. I hadn’t shot a real formal youtube video in forever. My channel was mostly vlogs from last summer. I decided to film in front of a plain wall in my room. I set up my old video camera and sat in my chair from my desk. I jotted down a few main points I wanted to talk about. I pressed the record button and started. “Hi guys! So I’m y/n. I’m Cameron’s new girlfriend. I decided to make this video so you guys can really get to know me. So, I’m going to tell you guys about myself. If you want to know the background between Cam and I, go watch his video. So, the first thing you want to know is I used to be a fan girl. I had a twitter account, which wasn’t really popular. I had like 300 followers. I know it seems crazy, but yes I am just one of you. I tweeted the boys 200 or more times for following sprees, I had their tweet notifications on, I was the typical fan girl. I want you to know that also, I am only 15 years old. I know that I will get so much hate for being younger but I can’t help my age. hate if you want, but my dad is 4 years older than my mom, so it really isn’t all that weird. I live about half an hour away from New York City so yes I live far away from Cam. We are going to make it work though. Ummm, I’m really talkative and not shy. I do competitive dance, and I’m very caring. I just really want you all to know that I was in your same position. And honestly, if my favorite got a girlfriend I’d be upset too. I’d want it to be someone who would treat them right. I am normal, and you guys need to remember that. I’m a teenager in high school. I have homework, and dance, and I like to sit on the internet all day. I want you guys to remember to never give up. Ever. I had never gotten noticed by any of the boys. I had a really tough life a couple years ago. We will never hide things from you. So, in conclusion I want you to know that I love you all and that I know exactly what each and every one of you are going through. And that you don’t need to be a supermodel, or someone rich or famous to be happy. And with that I’m gonna leave. Thanks for watching! I think I might start doing weekly videos. Subscribe!” It suprisinly went really well. I got out everything I wanted to, and hopefully the fans wouldn’t be as upset knowing that Cameron’s girlfriend was a normal girl and that I wasn’t a complete bitch.
Cameron texted me when his flight landed at around 2:30. I decided to go downstairs and ask my parents about North Carolina. They were watching tv. “Hey mom, dad so Nash’s mom lives in North Carolina, where he used to live, and he invited Cameron, Lauren and I to go stay with him there over the fourth of July.” I said. I paused, waiting for a response. Finally my mom answered saying “That sounds like fun! I trust Cameron, and you are staying with his mom so it’s not like you guys are alone in a house.” I looked at my dad, waiting for his approval. “Well I think we should maybe just meet his mom over the phone before trusting her with our child.” I smiled and nodded. “Yeah I’ll find out her phone number and we can start working out the details! It’s in only a week!” I said and ran back upstairs. I texted Cameron and told him that my parents were fine with it. Lauren told me that her parents said she could go too. The next day, Nash gave me his mom’s phone number and my mom called her. They said that maybe Nash and Cameron could meet Lauren and I’s parent’s halfway since we couldn’t drive ourselves. We decided we’d drive up there on Monday of next week. I was getting so excited. I would get to meet Hayes and Skylnn!
I had posted my video Saturday night and received so many sweet comments. The fans were so nice to me. I think they were glad that Cameron was with someone that made him happy and treated him right.
This whole week was extremely boring without Cameron in town. I facetimed him a lot though. Lauren and I spent the whole week getting excited for North Carolina. We bought some new clothes and swimsuits for the trip. When Sunday night rolled around, I was scrambling around my room packing everything. When I finally got everything my suitcase barely closed. Then I had a whole separate bag for all of my bathroom stuff. Cameron and Nash flew to North Carolina on Saturday. On Monday, they were driving to Virginia and meeting my parents halfway. It was about 4 and a half hours to get to where we were meeting. My parents were driving Lauren and I there, and when we were coming home, Lauren’s parents would meet us halfway to take us home. On Monday morning, I struggled to carry all of my bags downstairs. I put them in the trunk of our car. We left our house by 9:45, and stopped at Lauren’s who had just about the same amount of luggage. She said goodbye to her family and then we were on our way! I was so excited to see Cameron again, even though it’d only been a week and 2 days. We were meeting them at a gas station, and before I knew it we were there. I saw a car that I figured was Nash’s mom’s that Cameron was driving with Nash in the passenger seat. My dad parked and I hopped out of the car and ran across the parking lot to hug Cameron. He wrapped me in his arms and picked me up. “it’s good to see you again.” He whispered in my ear.
