Cameron rode the bus to my house from the city right after I got home from school. He sat on the couch with me, trying to figure out my math homework. I had my folder on my lap, but it made no sense. Cameron was surprisingly pretty good at it though. He helped me through it, and when I was done, he jumped up and said “okay! Let’s go!” I got up and went over to the kitchen and got a bottle of water. “Go where?” I asked. “Out! About! Would you rather go to pizza and a movie or ice cream and bowling?” Cameron asked. He came over to the kitchen as I laughed and said “Ice cream and bowling.” “It’s kind of like us having our own house together.” He said, pulling me in and hugging me. “maybe one day!” I said joking around. Right then, my mom walked in. “Hi guys!” She said. “Is Cameron staying for dinner?” She asked. “no, we’re going for ice cream and bowling.” I said. “Ice cream for dinner… yum!” My mom said, laughing. I ran upstairs to grab my wallet and left Cameron and my mom chatting. Cameron had a driver take us to my local bowling alley. Luckily though, it was only a Tuesday night so people from school wouldn’t be there. We got our bowling shoes, which I must say, Cameron worked. He picked up a ball, and handed it to me which happened to be really heavy. When it was in my hand, my whole body like sunk over so Cameron laughed and took it out of my hands. Bowling was really fun, even though I was so bad. Of course, Cameron beat me. “Loser has to buy ice cream!” He said, laughing. “Cam!” I said, laughing too. He smiled and put his arm around me as we walked to his driver’s car. “Nah I’m just kidding.”

Even though we’d just gotten back together, in a way it felt like we’d never even broke up. We sat there, at a table eating ice cream. “You know what they say, you don’t realize how good something is until it’s gone.” Cameron said. I looked at him, confused as he explained. “I didn’t realize how much I needed you until you were gone.” He said. I smiled and said “Aw, Cameron. When are you leaving?” “Tomorrow morning.” Cameron said, looking upset. “But it’s okay. I’m gonna visit a lot.” He said, smiling. As he ate, he got ice cream all over his mouth. I started laughing uncontrollably. “What?! Y/n? What!” He said as I kept laughing. “Come here,” I said, motioning him to bring his head near mine. I used my thumb and wiped his mouth for him. “Did you get it all?” Cameron asked. I laughed and said “no.” He brought his head really close to mine. Right before I wiped his mouth again, I kissed him. After we both pulled away Cameron said “Y/n! You’re such a tease.” I started laughing again and said “Cameron, look at yourself.”

We got back to my house around 7, so we decided to take a walk around my neighborhood. As we walked, Cameron held my hand tightly. We talked about California, and my plans for the future, and college. I really wanted to go to school in California but it was way too expensive so I was planning on a dance school in new York City. Even though I was only in 10th grade, I always thought about it. He stopped me, and we stared into each other’s eyes. Cameron grabbed my waist and pulled me in so tight that I swear I felt his heartbeat. He kissed me quickly, and pulled apart but I was still in his arms. Then suddenly we both leaned back in for a really passionate, long kiss. After we pulled apart, he looked into my eyes again. “y/n, I am so in love with you. I don’t know how I expected to live without you.” He said. I smiled and said “Maybe we can last a lifetime.”
