•SLIGHT TW- this chapter discusses self harm, please read it, it has very important things in it, I just wanted to warn you•
So I'm sure a few of you probably struggle with self harm, I just wanted to share some things I do that help me get through times when I feel like self harming.🍃Tell Someone🍃
Something that's definitely important is that you are not alone. You don't have to fight this battle on your own. If there's anyone you can trust, try to let them know how you're feeling so they can try to help. Someone is always there. I promise.🍃Keep Your Hands Busy🍃
Of course, the above person I mentioned can help with this. You can text them to keep your hands busy or call/FaceTime them or something. You're not bothering them. And you're not being annoying. Another thing you can do is download some games on your phone. (Here are some I have, for example:So that can give you an idea of what I'm talking about). I also use these games for distractions from anxiety and other things. Other things you can do are draw, write, paint, etc. You don't have to keep anything you create, but if it helps you at the time, do it. I usually draw on my wrist with a normal ink pen, because I find it more helpful, but everyone has their own preferences.
🍃Check YouTube🍃
I know on YouTube there are videos that have some things you can do instead of self harm. And there was one thing I saw that said (if you self harm with razors/blades) you can fill a container or zip lock bag with water, put your blades in it, and freeze it. This way, if you get the urge to cut, you have to wait for the ice to thaw out, and by then you might change your mind. With all of this being said, though, I'd like you all to remember that even if you do end up self harming, even if you relapse, it's okay. As long as you're trying your hardest, you will make it. You can survive this. All of you are so strong, and someone is always here.
Everything will be okay,
~Alice💘
