             ::Davina's POV::

    My anxiety is eating me alive. The only thing keeping me from completely loosing my mind is Emmy and her love for baking cookies. I've already burnt the first two batches, which she was very disappointed in me for. Her innocence almost hurts me, but I also wish I was like her. She has no idea that her father is putting his life on the line right now with many others who don't deserve it.
    A few months ago I wouldn't of imagined myself feeling bad for gang members, let alone the leaders. I used to think they were heartless, evil humans who didn't care about others; but I've come to now see how wrong I really was. They're just like everyone else, scared of possibilities, anxious of what's to come, sometimes more vulnerable than others, and most of all, capable of love.
    As soon as I woke up in my old bed room the first day and found out what Sin really was, I thought he was heartless and didn't care for anything. But then I seen his interaction with Emmy and the love he had for this little girl. And the love and admiration she has for Sin is what every father and daughter should have.
    And him and I, that was what I never expected. I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible to return to my family and Princess, but they've become my family. The men here are like thirty older, over protective brothers. Emmy is my best friend, and Sin somehow along the line became my first love. Of course, I haven't been able to tell him that, but it's how I feel. I hope and pray he'll return so I can tell him.

                 ::Sin's POV::

     "Don't pull that trigger," I say, my voice begging. He caught me off guard, which isn't good on my side. His gun is lined up directly with my throat and he's known for his exceptional aim. One shot and I'm gone. I'll never be able to see my daughter again, I won't make it home to her. She'll be left wondering where I went and why I never came back.
    "Why? So you can shoot me? You have more than all my men dead already, Sinith," he says, breathing heavily. "You're smart, too smart. But you also show too much emotion for this business, that's what's gonna get you killed. I doubt you want your daughter finding out her daddy is dead."
    "I won't shoot you, I promise," I said. His brows draw together. All the years of hard work trying to get him in this position no longer matters; I just need to get home to Emmy and Davina. My love for the both of them might be the death of me. "W-we can compromise."
    "How do you think that? We run things too differently," he says. "You run by logic, I work on impulse; both very deadly."
     "Yeah, I know," I say, trying to think of something. "If you will just put your gun down and I'll do the same, we can talk about this and work something out." He scuffs. "Please, I know you don't wanna loose this, and I want to go home. Please."
    His eyes dart around at the dead bodies around him, most are his men. He nods slowly, closing his eyes softly. We both bend down and rest our guns on the ground, kicking them to the side. Zenith walks up behind Peppers, his gun held out.
    "You can't be working on such impulse. It'll be the death of you. If we work together, both logic and bravery combined, it would make us more powerful. We could take down the cartel even," I say. That's always been the both of ours main end goal.
    "How do I know you aren't bullshitting me?" He asks. I shrug, watching as Zenith positions himself to get the best aim possible. Seeing "Lucifer" himself in his element is something I've always just wanted to see. I can now see why he got the nickname.
    "You don't, but we have to trust each other," I say. "We can do what we always dreamed of." He nods, stepping closer to me and offering his hand. The loud bang of the gun going off from Zenith's gun makes me jump down and out of way, not taking the changes of it accidentally hitting me.
   Peppers face pales immediately, blood filling his mouth and running out down his chin. His knees buck under him. He falls limp just as I stand and walk to his body. Zenith looks around, seeing whose still alive out of our men.
     "You good?" Angel asks me from a distance. I'm relieved to hear his voice, knowing he's alive.
    "Yeah."

    The house sounds completely dead of any activity when we all walk in. Davina walks out from around the corner, her eyes lighting up when she sees me. She runs over me to, tears threatening to escape her beautiful eyes. I've never had this type of welcoming and I could get used to it, feeling that I actually matter to someone.
    She wraps her arms around my waist as I pick her up, my head in the crook of her neck. She runs her fingers through my hair, leaning back a little in my arms to look into my eyes. She smiles, laughing gently from what I think is relief.
    "Thank God you're okay," she says, pressing her lips to mine. Someone clears their throat, making is pull apart from our kiss.
   "If you don't need us any longer, Vito and I need to leave as soon as possible back to our families," Zenith says. I nod, slowly setting Davina down, but keeping her close and her hand in mine.
    "You three are free to leave anytime you please. Thank you all for helping," I say, shaking all their hands. Angel looks at me uncomfortably, I feel bad for misjudging him the first time. "I apologise for thinking lowly of you in the beginning, Angelino."
    "It's fine, I get it a lot," he says, shrugging with just a hint of a smile.
    "I really hope you one day get to go back home to your brother," I say. That smile fades at the mention of his younger brother, Matias, who is more like a son to him. "He's lucky to have you watching out for him."
   "Thanks you, Mr. Memosa."
   "If you guys ever need me, I owe you all greatly," I tell them. We say our final goodbyes and I go back to where Davina walked off to. "I hate to bring this up so soon, but what are you wanting to do now?" I ask.
    "What do you mean?" She asks. Surely, she's thought about returning home to her family.
    "Your brother. When do you plan on wanting to go home?" I ask sadly. I knew this day would come and I've been dreading it.
   "I don't know," she says, sounding just as sad. "I don't want to leave you or Davina. She thinks I'm here to stay."
   "You could be if you want," I say, hopeful of her deciding to stay. "You could see your brother and friend whenever you please. Davina, she needs you as soon as she needs me." She nods, looking down at her hands.
   "I can't, I need to go home. I need to finish school; I'm already so far behind," she says. Our eyes lock. "If this is meant to happen, something will work out in the end."
   I walk over to her, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her against me. "At least stay until Friday," I say. "We can actually have a nice today out tomorrow with Davina and go to dinner. You can do something normal with me for once."
   She smiles, her eyes sparkling at the idea. "Yes," she says, kissing my cheek excitedly. "I love you." My face heats up at her three words that I've longed to hear from her.
   "I love you too, hermosa."

           •Two months Later•
              ::Davina's POV::

    "Princess," I say, throwing her bag back at her. She flinches at the hard impact on her lap, almost dropping her coffee. She glares and takes her homework out.
   "How have you already gotten caught up after five months of being MIA?" She asks in disbelief. I shrug, not really being able to understand it myself. The past two months I've done nothing but get all my work done and study my absolute hardest for finals that are coming up faster than I would wish for.
    "It's called having no social life or friends other than you," I say. She rolls her eyes, looking up at the door. Her eyes widen in shock. She grabs my hand quickly, not looking away from the front. I turn around to see Sin with Emmy at his side, smiling up at him as she talks. Tears brim my eyes at the sight of them. I've missed them more than I've let myself admit.
   "Davvy!" Emmy exclaims in excitement when she sees me. She let's go of Sin's hand and runs to me. I wrap my arms around her small body, crying into her shoulder. "I've missed you sooooo much."
   "I missed you too," I say, kissing her temple. She steps back. Sin walks over, his eyes soft and loving; so different from when I first seen them. I get up and throw myself at him. He holds onto me tightly.
   "I was hoping I'd find you here again like the first time," he says. I giggle, pulling back and smiling. He gives me a soft kiss, his calloused thumbs creasing my now damp cheeks.
   "I'm still here," Princess says. "What the actual hell happened while you were gone?"
   "It's a long story."
