             ::Davina's POV::

I wake up to the feeling of someone rolling over, almost on top of me. I don't even remember going to bed, maybe I was crying so much I cried myself to sleep. Wow, that's depressing. I look over to see Emilia in bed with me. Her beautifully colored eyes open.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" I ask, confused as to why she's in here with me. She rubs her eyes and sits up.
"Yeah, I got scared last night and daddy's door was locked," she tells me. He locked his door the whole night? What if she was sick? Or was seriously frightened? She would need him and wouldn't be able to get in immediately. If I wasn't so scared of him, I would definitely give him a piece of my mind.
"Oh, well I'm sorry," I say. She gives me a small smile. "Did you sleep well when you came in?" I ask, hoping I was able to bring her some comfort even if I was asleep. She nods.
"Yes." She gets out of bed and walks to my side, taking my hand and tugging it a little. My brows raise at her. "Come downstairs." For so young, her speech and ability to form sentences is astonishing. I follow her out of the room, my eyes looking everywhere. This house is beautiful.
The walls are painted maroon with white lining, there are pictures of Emilia scattered on the walls every now and then and random chairs. I highly doubt Sin was the one who decorated this place.
A large group of men looks in our direction, stopping their conversation. "Hi," I say awkwardly. They probably couldn't even hear me.  The guy from last night, Kole, straightens up and walks over, picking Emilia up.
"This is our house guest that Sin was telling us about yesterday. Davina," he says, gesturing to me with his body. Everyone mumbles a hello and smiles. Maybe they aren't so bad.
Loud footsteps coming from the opposite hall makes us all be quiet again. Sin walks in with a tall, handsome man with tattoos and longish hair, and a shirt girl with long dark brown hair and extremely clear skin. My gaze drops down to their hands. You can find love in this business?
"I see you all met Davina," Sin says. Everyone nods and eventually files out. He looks at Kole, waiting for him to leave as well.
"What? I can't even stay?" He asks, making sure his grip on Emmy is firm.
"You know the answer to that," he says. He sets Emmy down who rushes to her father. His whole demeanor changes once he has her in his arms. It's actually cute. He doesn't look as scary right now not with bright eyes and a small smile. He looks calm with her. "How did you sleep, pumpkin?" He asks her.
"Not good," she mumbles, rubbing her eyes. "I has nightmare and need you, but your door locked," she tells him. He sighs, automatically looking ashamed.
"I'm sorry," he says. "Daddy was very busy last night. I promise I won't lock it again. Now go get dressed and I'll take you outside to play shortly," he tells her. She gives his cheek a quick kiss before he sets her down and she runs off to her room.
"It's very nice to meet you, Davina," the handsome man says, shaking my hand with his free one. Gosh why are these men's hands so rough? "I'm Zenith Santiago, and this is my wife, Astra."
She offers me her hand and a soft smile. Wife, something I may never get the chance to be. "He leads the Los Asesinos gang in Saint Main." I give them a tight smile.
"Why don't you and Astra relax while we talk about business?" Sin suggests. Astra nods, taking her hand out of her husband's and walks to the couches. Wow, they look expensive.
"How long have you and him been married?" I ask. She smiles at the thought, her eyes lighting up.
"Only a few months," she answers. I go on to ask her other questions, trying to ignore my nerves. "We met when I was in my senior year of highschool, he was doing community service after prison," she says with a giggle. "I tried distancing myself, dated a really nice man, ended up falling in love with Zenith and found out he was trying to kill my father," she says.
"Wow," I say with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I was heart broken and broke up with him. We didn't speak for five years. I eventually got engaged to my ex and became a teacher at a elementary school, where his daughter ended up being my student and now we're here," she explains.
"That's one hell of a story," I say with a chuckle. She smiles, brushing her hair out of her face. How is she just so naturally beautiful?
"What about you and Sin? How long have you been together?" She asks. I choke on my own saliva at that.
"We are not together," I say. She now looks confused. "I met him maybe a month ago at church and we kept running into each other. Two nights ago, I went out to dinner with him and everything was fine until we went dancing and there was a shooting."
   "I've been there before."
"Yeah well, we ran out and he stayed in, because it was his own men who caused it. I wanted to be far away from him but someone, he said a bad man, was walking towards us and he told me to run and fall when he fired the gun. I don't remember anything after that other than what he told me. I'm here against my will, but everyone is telling me it's for my own good."
She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes for a second from shock. "Wow," she says. "You have to understand that this business is no joke, at least from what I've seen; which isn't a lot cause Zenith keeps me in the dark about most of it. If that man seen you with Sin, who is a leader of an enemy, you are in grave danger. He is keeping you safe."
I take a deep breath, tired of hearing that over and over again. "That's not my problem, I'm sure his intentions are well. I'm just worried about my brother. He's all I got and I'm all he has other than his girlfriend." She bites down on her bottom lip.
"If you want, I can stop by your home and act as if I have the wrong address to see if he's okay for you," she says. It now feels like a huge weight have been lifted off my shoulders.
"Yes, please," I say. She nods and takes out her phone, so she can put the address in. "Thank you."
"Your welcome, now I'm the meantime, try and find the good in him. I can tell by the way he looks at you that you are more than someone he just doesn't want to die. Most would have just left you."

I walk back into the living room to see the screen door open to the backyard. A small playground is in the center and Sin is on his phone while Emmy tries to walk up the slide. He looks up and catches my gaze.
"You can come out," he says. I step outside, feeling the fresh air cold against my skin, but it feels good after being indoors for so long. I walk over, watching Emmy as she plays. "I didn't get the chance to apologize."
"It's fine," I say. "Everyone is telling me this is for my own good, I have to believe them whether or not I want to. It's not like you'll be letting me leave anytime soon." My words come out a lot harsher than I intended them to.
"You're right about that," he says. "You are innocent in this, and I try my hardest not to hurt innocent people."
"Only the bad ones right?" I ask. He nods and steps away from me.
"Follow me," he says. ""Emmy, we'll be at the water if you need me." She just gives him a thumbs up and continues playing. I walk at his side, looking down at the grass. He takes my hand in his, pulling me closer. I get the cliche feeling of shocks running through my body at his touch.
We stop at a small water fountain that looks to have been built a long time ago. It's beautiful and well done. He makes me sit beside him on the bench.
"Zenith called me and he said they stopped at your home," he says. I straighten up. "He said your brother is fine, looks restless, but is okay." I let out a breath of relief.
"Thank god," I say, smiling. "You never answered my question as to if I'll get to see him again." He stares deeply into my eyes. His are so beautiful and cloudy.
"Once these men are dead and I know it is safe for you leave from my care, you will be able to see again. I will have my people keep checking in on him in anyway I can for you until that day happens." I nod, taking his hand and squeezing it.
"Thank you so much," I say. Astra had said to look for the good in him, maybe this is it.
"Daddy! Come push me!" Emmy tells from sitting on the swing. He let's out a breathy chuckle and stands, brushing his pants off.
   "Duty calls."
