CLARY ADMIRES THE dress she's wearing, the black fabric hugging her curves and flowing from her waist down to her mid-thigh.

Black velvet high heels adorn her feet, and her signature black leather jacket covers her shoulders.

She nods to herself and smiles, pleased with her outfit choice, before looking over at her three best friends, checking them out.

Josie is wearing a navy velvet-coloured dress that goes to her mid-thigh, but the waist area is bedazzled. Her brown hair is curled, and she's going with a natural makeup look.

Lizzie's dress is red, and she's wearing black sandals since she's not much of a high-heels girl. Her long, blonde hair is straightened, pulled into a fancy-looking bun with a single flower tucked into it.

Wearing a purple dress that clings to all the right spots and shows off some cleavage, Hope is a sight for sore eyes. She has high heels on, and her hair is in loose curls.

All four girls glance at each other and sigh. They don't really want to attend the Cullen family's party, but they do want to do something tonight.

Since there isn't much to do in the small town of Forks, they decide to go.

BARELY TWENTY MINUTES into the party, the four best friends are incredibly bored and regretting their decision to accept the invite.

The guests here are people Clary doesn't care for or even know, except for Bella's group of friends, whom she doesn't particularly like.

Clary and the girls stand near a table packed with snacks, reminiscing about their childhoods and how they all became friends.

Hope and Lizzie are giggling, feeling stupid for hating each other for the last three years for no reason whatsoever. They're so glad Clary got them to become friends.

Now none of the girls want to be separated from the other—they love each other. They're siblings, after all.

Emma, Clary's mother, married the twins' father, Alaric, making the three girls step-sisters. And he has basically adopted Hope by now, so that makes four.

Clary frowns when she sees Bella, the Cullens, and the wolves walk into a room together. Her frown deepens at Paul, Seth, and Embry. Do they not know the girls are here?

The girls glance at each other before rushing into the room as well, making the room's inhabitants look at them wide-eyed.

The three wolves immediately move over to their imprints, throwing a protective arm around them.

"Okay, what's going on?" Clary asks, wanting to know what's so important that it made both the vampires and wolves move into a room together. After all, their kinds don't get along.

"A newborn was in your house."

Clary narrows her eyes as she turns to Edward. "Say what now?"

"You've heard about the Seattle killings, right?" Carlisle asks, and the girls nod their affirmation. "Alice has had a vision of Victoria making a newborn army. One of which was in your house last night, going through your belongings. They'll be on their way in a week."

"So what are we going to have to do?" Bella questions, worried, as her arms wrap around her own waist.

Clary grins. "We're going to take them down, once and for all."
