Ash wants to go to Pewter City so he can fight the gym leader and get a gym badge.
"Ash, you should think about what Pokémon you have," Misty said.
"Why?" Ash asked.
"The Gym Leader is known to use only Rock-type Pokémon. You have Pikachu and his attacks won't affect any Rock-type Pokémon."
"I could use Pidgeotto," Ash said.
"No, Rock types are stronger against Flying Types."
"What about Butterfree?" Ash asked.
"NO. You need a water type to defeat a Rock type."
"How do you know all of this Amanda?" Ash asked.
"There's a Pokémon journal that Professor Oak gave me. I've been reading it since we left Pallet Town."
"Amanda, are you going to battle the gym leader too?" Misty asked.
"Maybe but I can't use Kaito or Aki because they will get hurt badly."
We made it to Pewter City and met a man named 'Flint'. He sells rocks which is very strange.
"You came here to fight Brock?" Flint asked.
"Yes," Ash replied.
"You will lose," Flint said.
Flint was trying to warn Ash about Brock but he still wants to try to win his gym badge.
'This isn't going to end well.'
We walk into the gym and notice that the whole building is based on rock types.
"Come out, Eiji."
"Sandshrew" 'Where are we, mama?'
"Eiji, we are about to battle a gym leader that only uses Rock types. You're the only one in the group that can handle this type of Pokémon."
"Sandshrew" 'Okay mama.'
Aki and Kaito came out of their Poké Balls.
"Beedrill" 'Good luck Eiji.'
"Charmander"'Good luck Eiji.'
The gym leader came out and Ash decided to go first.

30 minutes later
Ash lost because he used Pikachu and Pidgeotto which I told him not to do.
"Ash, I told you so!"
"Okay you were right, Amanda!" Ash yelled.
"Kaito & Aki, you need to stay here and watch the battle so you can learn when we have to fight another gym leader."
Brock brought out Geodude to fight.

"Geodude, use rock throw!" Brock commanded.
"Geodude" 'okay'
"Eiji, dodge it! Then use sand attack!"
"Sandshrew" 'Yes Mama.'
Eiji dodged the attack and used Sand Attack.
"Geodude?" 'What?'
"Now use scratch!"
Eiji attacked Geodude.
"Geodude, use tackle!" Brock commanded.
"Eiji, dodge then use scratch!"
Eiji dodges and attacks Geodude. Geodude was defeated.
"Good job Eiji."
"Sandshrew" 'Thank you, mama'
"Charmander!" 'Hooray for Eiji!'
"Beedrill!" 'Yay!'
Brock sent Onix out to battle Eiji.
"Oh Crap"
"Sandshrew?" 'Mama?'
"Don't worry Eiji. We'll beat him."
15 minutes later
During the battle, Eiji evolved into Sandslash & was able to defeat Onix.

"Good Job Eiji."
"Sandslash" 'Mama I evolved.'
He tried to hug me but his claws were scratching me a bit.
"Sandslash" 'sorry mama.'
"Don't worry Eiji. I love you too."
Brock gave me the boulder badge.
The next day
Ash & Misty came back to the gym. Ash was able to beat Brock but Onix was taken down by the sprinkler system. Brock still gave Ash the boulder badge because he deserved it.
