"Kyle, visitor!" my mother's voice echoed from upstairs. I slid my headphones off of my ears as I heard a series of footsteps echo down the steps towards my room. Anytime someone wanted to visit me, they usually came to the back door. I chewed on my bottom lip as Aidan appeared at the bottom of my steps. I nearly peeled over and died right there. What was he doing here?

"Hi, I hope you weren't busy," he replied those blue eyes of his finding their way onto mine.

This was the first time he had spoken to me in two or three weeks.

"Nope, bored, actually," I replied shaking my head. He walked over towards me and leaned against the wall beside me, fumbling with his fingers for a moment. It was weird seeing him here and hearing his voice. I missed him.

"I spoke to Jude," he began. "He told me everything, Kyle. He told me how he made a deal with Niall and how he purposefully sabotaged our relationship. He even told me about how he was planning on hurting you. Hell - He even apologized."

That was shocking. But it appeared Jude was looking to make amends with everyone. I guess he was trying to clear his conscious. I don't know.

"Oh," I replied as Aidan sat down beside me, resting his hand on top of mine. I bit my lip as he squeezed my hand in his.

"I'm sorry about how everything went down between us," he continued. "I know it was hard to believe me, but you get it now, right? I would never hurt you intentionally or cheat, for that matter."

I nodded. "Of course I do. I already got the speech from Jude a few weeks ago. It's why I was trying to talk you. You remember when you drove off in the parking lot."

Aidan sighed running his fingers through his sandy brown hair. "I was upset, Kyle. I was still hurting over you and I thought you were seeing Jude. I mean I heard you two went out on a date just the other day."

I shook my head. "Yeah. One date. Jude and I aren't seeing each other. He and I are better off as friends."

I had forgiven Jude and I even gave him the one thing he wanted – a date. It happened a few days ago. He did everything perfectly. He showed up on time, he was sweet, and we had a lot of fun. Jude did everything right, but for some reason, I couldn't get my mind off of Aidan. I liked Jude and he and I had a great time together, but there wasn't a spark. It wasn't like what Aidan and I had. We both felt it and both agreed that it would be best if he and I stayed friends.

Aidan nodded, trying to hold back that dimpled smile of his. "So that means your single?"

My eyes darted onto Aidan's baby blue ones for a moment, as I shook my head. "I'm actually seeing Rob from the swim team. Didn't you hear?"

Aidan raised an eyebrow as I let out a laugh. He laughed along with me, realizing that I had been joking.

"Oh well that's good," Aidan said catching me completely off guard. "You know I've been mustering up the courage for a while to ask out the hot guy in my gym class. I just wanted to make sure you were okay with that."

"Hot guy? Huh?" I repeated a smile appearing on my face. "Are you talking about Niall? Because I already called dibs on him."

Aidan shook his head, lifting my chin up, and bringing his lips onto mine. I broke the kiss  trying to fight back the  grin that so desperately wanted to expose itself. I pressed my hands onto his chest, gently pushing him away.

"Hold on, Aidan," I sighed before I let him go any further. As much as I wanted to roll around naked with him, I couldn't just take him back this easily. He had to know that things were going to be different this time around if he wanted to get back together. I wasn't going to be at the whim of Niall and Olivia.
