By the time Chloe appeared in front of her, Bridgette had managed to put out an image of togetherness. Fingers still tightly clasped against one another to prevent the tremors that ran down her body from showing, she sat by the secretary's desk, staring vacantly at the scene as it passed before her.
"Bridgette!"
At the sound of her name, Bridgette snapped back to reality and a sense of relief flowed through her body at the sight of her older sister, "Chloe," she breathed out, enveloping her sister into a tight hug. As she stood there, eyes closed, arms tightly wrapped around Chloe's waist, her mind unwillingly wandering back to the murder.
But, before either of the two women could say anything, the clearing of a throat startled the girls apart, "How touching," a man said as he stepped out from behind Chloe, "Detective, are you going to introduce me to your lovely friend?"

Blushing furiously, Bridgette scrambled to compose herself as Chloe pulled Lucifer away from her. "Lucifer, can I talk to you in private please?" Chloe ground out between her teeth, not giving the man a chance to answer before pulling him to the corner of the room. Bridgette stared at the pair as they whispered furiously to one another until she realized what she was doing and turned the other way hurriedly.
What in the world was she doing? She wasn't the type of person to get so rattled by man, even if he did happen to be the sexiest thing she's seen in all thirty-two years of her life. Putting her hands into her pocket, her fingers brushing against the piece of paper that brought her back to the events that took place this morning.
Chantelle. Text. Blood. Dead.
Fingers shaking, Bridgette pulled the note out of her pocket, flattening the paper against her palms as she read the words that sent shivers down her spine. Who could have done something like that to another living being? And more importantly, what did they want from her of all people?
