Christmas: a TMI fanfic

Chapter 5

I wake up and look out the window to see snow on the windowsill outside. I look at my clock.

9:12, 12\25.

My eyes widen as I read it again. I feel a burst of energy and rip off the blankets on my bed. I throw the door open and run down the hall. I run down the stairs as fast as I can and jump the last 3 steps. I run into the living room to see my mom and Luke sitting on the couch holding presents.

"Merry Christmas Clary!" my mom says when she sees me. She reachs under the christmas tree and hands me a present. I grin at her, then reach under the tree and grab my present for her and my present for Luke and hand them to my mom and stepdad, smiling.

I get out of the shower and put on a pair of jeans and a sweater that I got from my mom and Luke this morning. I brush my hair, then put it in a side braid. When im done, I look at my clock, which reads 10:47. I'm supposed to be at the institute around 11, so I have to leave soon. I grab my presents for Alec, Izzy, and Jace, and head downstairs. I say goodbye to my mom and Luke, then head to the institute, grabbing an apple on my way out.

As I walk down the street to the subway, I pass a store and the manaquin is wearing an outfit that Magnus would wear. I smile, then stop, looking back at the manaquin.

shit, I forgot to get Magnus a present.

I run into the store, throwing what's left of my apple in the trashcan near the door. I rush around in the store, searching for a present for Magnus. I find a rainbow sparkly scarf and grab it. perfect. I pay then run out of the store. I sprint down the street, getting dirty look from the other people walking. I run down the stairs of the subway station. The train's doors are about to close. I jump through the closing doors, barely making it. I breath a sigh of relief as I sit down in one of the open seats
