Part 32

Two chapters left you guys. I feel kinda sad that my longest story is now ending in February. I hope you guys have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Also my one little AU character will be mentioned a few times in this one just because I can.

July 2016 – Danny p.o.v

It feels so much better now my leg has fully healed. Michael made me a new prosthetic even though it was the necrosis that was causing my issues when it came to wearing them, he just felt like he could make me one with an inbuilt cover which would be easier for me. Now it's the summer and I am not restricted to jeans anymore. "I have an idea. Tomorrow we could take the kiddos to the zoo. After everything that we have been through over these last two years the least they and we deserve is a day to relax," George says, the kiddos are playing together in the garden all three of them. Jorel was being cat man again and rubbing his head on my hand before settling down on my lap in the summer sun. "Yeah that's a good idea, they'll enjoy it too," I tell George and Jorel meows in agreement.

"Even this random cat agrees," George says, and I chuckle. Jorel hissed and swiped at George before running back into the house for a minute. I take my time to watch the three kids, just seeing them play nicely together. Tyler is now almost 3 years old and he calls Anna his mom even though one day he will learn she isn't his birth mom like he thinks. Scarlett is 5 and she's going to be 6 in November and Ava is 7 but they never let that age gap stop Tyler from joining in with them. Jorel comes back as human and I stand up for a moment, so he could sit down before I sit on his lap. "Can I make one request that you never call me random cat again," Jorel asks George, I just shake my head at their silliness.

"Okay Jay, I will never call you a random cat again," George says, seconds before Jorel pushes him into the pool. I was now sitting on the floor just watching the mess unfold. The kiddos noticed too and came running over. "We're okay, just being silly," George says, as he climbs out of the pool with ease and goes to dry himself off. Jorel looks to me and realises that I am now on the floor instead of on his lap because he got up so quickly to push George into the pool. "Woops sorry Danny," he tells me, then helps me back to my feet. Scarlett and Ava had enough of playing outside now and I noticed Tyler was getting tired. "It's okay, it seems about time to head inside for a bit anyway," I say, before scooping Tyler into my arms.

Tyler holds onto me tightly, I have somehow become his favourite uncle and he naturally comes over to me when he can't find his dad or Anna anywhere. The two love birds are on their date while I offered free babysitting services. I just wanted a quiet day in today, we can talk about the zoo trip later when the kiddos have gone to bed. "Danny, I'm tired," Tyler tells me as we walk into the house. "I know buddy, want me to put you down for a nap?" I ask him, and he nods. I make it my mission to never use my powers on the children unless I have too, Tyler naturally falls asleep in my arms anyway and has done since he was a small baby. The girls hug Tyler and I before telling the youngest to have a good nap. I take the little one to his room and lay on the bed with him.

I rub his chest a few times and just watch as his eyes flutter closed. It does not take long before Tyler falls asleep and I stay with him for a few minutes. I just want to make sure his sleep is okay, and I don't have to use my powers on him. Jorel stands in the doorway and smiles. I did this with both Ava and Scarlett when they were Tyler's age. "I can see us having another child one day you know Danny," he tells me, and I smile. Airia said that she would be our surrogate and we are happy to accept that, we would like her to have her own family first though in case something bad happens and she can't have babies anymore. "Yeah, I like the sound of that Jorel, maybe have a son of our own," I say, knowing I'd be happy either gender of the child as long as he/she were a happy healthy baby.
