A few days later, Jadecloud padded over to Jaystorm, who was talking to Cinderwing. "Redpelt's wounds have healed enough that we can travel without them reopening," she mewed.

"That's good," Jaystorm replied. "We'll leave in the morning. Tell the others."

Jadecloud nodded. "Ok," she mewed, padding over to where the others were talking.

Stormheart walked over. "We should hutn before we leave," he said.

"You're right," Jaystorm said. "Take Lilysong and Snowfeather with you."

Stormheart nodded and padded over to where Lilysong and Snowfeather were talking. The two she-cats stood up and followed Stormheart out of the clearing.

"Do you think it was a good idea to send the two of them on a patrol together?" Cinderwing asked Jaystorm softly.

"Who? Snowfeather and Lilysong? They get along fine," Jaystorm replied, confused.

"Why?"

"Have you seen the way they look at each other? It's obvious they like eac other. All she does is talk about how great Stormheart is. It's a little annoying," she replied.

Jaystorm thought for a moment. "You're right," he mewed. "How could I have not noticed? Stormheart's been distracted a lot lately."

Cinderwing nodded. "So has Snowfeather. Do you-" She shook her head. "Never mind."

Jaystorm looked at her. "What is it?" he asked.

"Nothing. Forget I said anything," she said.

"Ok," he mewed, not convinced. "Follow me. There's someone I want you to meet." He padded over to where Redpelt and Firecloud were talking.

"Ok," Cinderwing mewed, following him.

"Redpelt, this is Cinderwing. She and her sisters, Jadecloud, the one who's been taking care of you, and Snowfeather, the white she-cat, are traveling with us. They were from DragonClan," Jaystorm explained.

"What do you mean "were"?" Redpelt asked.

"It was attacked and destroyed by DarkClan," Cinderwing said bluntly.

"I'm sorry," Redpelt said. "I assume Jaystorm told you about PhoenixClan."

It wasn't a question, but she answered anyway. "Yes, he told me," she replied.

Redpelt opened his mouth to reply, when suddenly Stormheart, Snowfeather, and Lilysong burst through the bushes that surrounded the clearing. Jaystorm and Cinderwing padded over to them.

"What happened?" Jaystorm asked Stormheart.

"It's DarkClan," Stormheart said. "We were hunting when we spotted a group of DarkClan cats. We came back here right away to warn everyone."

Everyone started talking at once, trying to figure out what they should do.

"Everyone, be quiet!" Cinderwing hissed suddenly. "I think I heard something."

Everyone stopped talking and looked at Cinderwing. Suddenly they heard voices.

"I'm telling you I smelled DragonClan!" a voice said.

"And I'm telling you that you've got bees in your brain," a different voice muttered.

"Teresapaw, apologize to Falconpaw right now!" a third voice snapped.

"Yes, Rosemarycloud," Teresapaw said. "Sorry, Falconpaw."

"It's ok, Falconpaw said.

A fourth cat spoke. "Where exactly did you smell DragonClan?" "Near the pine tree, Fallenflower," Falconpaw mewed. "The trail led this way."

Jaystorm looked at Cinderwing, who nodded slightly. She looked at the others.

"Here's the plan," she mewed. "We let them get to the edge of the bushes, then we attack."

Stormheart nodded. "That's a good plan," he mewed.

"Thanks," Cinderwing replied.

They froze as they heard a stick break.

"When I say "now," attack," Jaystorm said. He waited a moment, then said, "Now!"
