Cinderwing and the others jumped out of the bushes, startling the DarkClan patrol.
Falconpaw turned to Teresapaw. "See, I told you I smelled DragonClan!" he mewed.
"So I was wrong!" Teresapaw said. "I already apologized."
"Stop chatting already and fight!" Rosemarycloud told the two apprentices.
"Yes, Rosemarycloud," the two apprentices meowed. Falconpaw leaped at Cidnerwing, while Teresapaw attacked Redpelt.
Cinderwing dodged Falconpaw's attack, then swiped at his muzzle with a paw, claws unsheathed. Falconpaw tried to bite her paw. Cinderwing jumped on Falconpaw, pinning him to the ground. She kicked his belly with her rear paws. Falconpaw yowled in pain, then sturggled out of her grip and ran away.
Redpelt smacked Teresapaw's head with both front paws. Teresapaw stood there for a moment, dazed, then tried to bite Redpelt's leg. Cinderwing ran over to help Redpelt. She bit Teresapaw's tail. Teresapaw whirled around and swiped at Cinderwing's eyes. Cinderwing ducked, then knocked Teresapaw's legs out from under her. Redpelt jumped an Teresapaw and pinned her down, while Cinderwing swiped at Teresapaw's head. Teresapaw threw Redpelt off of her, then ran away.
"You ok?" Cinderwing asked Redpelt.
He nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for the help."
"No problem."
Rosemarycloud and Fallenflower turned and camly padded after their apprentices.
"You should train your apprentice better," Fallenflower told Rosemarycloud.
"My apprentice isn't the one that fled first," Rosemarycloud replied. "At least my apprentice can fight two warriors at once."
Jadecloud padded over to Redpelt and Cinderwing. "Are either of you hurt?" she asked.
"I'm fine," Cinderwing said.
"Me too," Redpelt replied.
Jaystorm padded over. "We should leave now before they come back with reinforcements," he mewed.
Cinderwing nodded. "Which way should we head?" she asked.
Jaystorm tasted the air. "This way," he said, heading in the opposite direction of the way the DarkClan cats went.
