You're Mine, Not His

Chapter Five (Phoenix pov)

I walk out of my mates room not being able to think about anything but the way her soft lips felt against mine. I groan as my mind then drifts to what happened after the mind blowing kiss. I walk into my new room and sit on the bed, the plain white walls and carpet bores me so I make a mental note to go to target.

" Dinner"  someone screams from down stairs, i hear them thanks to my super wolf hearing.  I walk out of my room and towards the huge staircase.  I stop outside my mates room and sniff the air her scent is strongest in there so she must be in there, Pushing the door open a little I peek inside and see her in nothing but a teal and black lacey bra and boys boxers. I try not to dwell on the fact that she is wearing some other guys boxers, instead I focus on how little clothing she's wearing.  I lick my lips as my imagination takes over making my wolf howl inside, someone clears they're throat loudly behind me and I spin around quickly. There stands my mates boyfriend.

"why are you here" he questions looking past me into my mates room.

"I live right down there" I point to my room down the hall.

" why are you in Tegan's room" he growls. Tegan? is that my mates name? Tegan, i like it. sexy. I think and look back over at my mate tegan. I bite lip causing the guy to growl.

" It's dinner time" I explain.

"well obviously she is sleeping" he talks to me like im four years old.

"really i hadn't noticed" I reply in the same tone of voice. He glares at me.

"and who might you be" I ask looking him over.

"I'm Houston,  Tegan's boyfriend" I didn't miss how he put extra emphasis on the word boyfriend.

" I see" I mumble before walking into Tegan's room shutting the door behind me. having no idea why I did it, looking down at Tegan's half naked form I practically start to drool. Go to her, my wolf commands in my head. I follow his orders happily, i lay down next to her and wrap my arms around her waist. Tegan immediately cuddles me nuzzling into my chest, probably involuntarily.  I sigh in content but I'm soon angered when the door swings open and Houston walks in.

"what the heck dude" I spit at him.

"what the heck? your spooning my girlfriend you pervert" he whisper shouts.

" She's MY mate" I growl at him.  His expression changes from anger to complete devastation. 

" w-what" he hiccups and I feel bad for the guy for a second .

" yeah, she's my freaking mate so back the heck off" like I said only one second. He stares at me with pain etched all through his face.

"your a lucky guy" Houston says simply before walking out of the room. I let out a breath of air and look down at Tegan her eyes are now open and her bright blue eyes are starring directly into my brown ones.

"hey" I smile down at her petite body. Her eyebrows furrow and my head drops to the side as her fist connects with my jaw. Tegan jumps out of the bed throwing on a t-shirt and running out of the room. well that sure went well. my wolf says in a sarcastic tone even though he's upset. I stand up and walk to the door, looking both ways before exiting.  Walking lazily down the stairs I hear a bunch of voices coming from the first floor, i follow the noises and I soon arrive in a crowded dining room. There's a huge wooden table in the middle with tons of chairs surrounding it. There's a few empty seats and at the head of the table sits the Alpha, he notices me and gestured for me to go to him. I follow his orders and walk up to the head of the table

"Hello phoenix" his voice booms silencing the whole room.

"continue eating, i didn't mean to interrupt you" he smiles at everyone in the room. Well he's a lot nicer of an alpha than I was. Everyone resumes eating and the alpha turns to me.

"it's about time you arrived, take a seat" he gestures to a seat next to him.

"okay, Alpha. . ."

". . .Sempronius" he finishes my sentence.

"but you can just call me alpha,  Sempronius is a mouth full" Alpha Sempronius jokes.

" okay alpha" I take a seat next to him, there's already a plate of food there so I dig in. My stomach instantly thanks me. I glance around the room and I'm filled with a new sense of belonging, everyone is laughing and smiling. Children are running around and bumping into people while they're parents try to control them and a few mated couples are secretly kissing in the dark corners. 

"it's nice isn't it" The Alpha whispers also looking around the room.

"yeah, it's more ... homey, i guess" I shrug.

"well we're all a family here" he say and ruffles my hair like I'm a pup. A scowl comes across my face as i readjust my blond hair. Alpha chuckles before returning to his meal. I continue eating also but i aruptly stop when my nostrils are filled with the familiar scent of my mate. My eyes shoot over to the entrance and in walks Tegan, her hand entangled with Houstons'. I thought I told that guy to back off. They stroll casually over to two open seats, Houston pulls out Tegan's chair for her and she smile at him brightly.

I know I promised a long chapter. but school is about to start again so I'm getting prepared and such. plus I'm suffering from writers Block. :(
