It's been a week since the party. And Hoseok has been dying to know what is up with Yoongi. The boy intrigued him so much, he just needs to know. Jimin brushes it off as him being drunk, but Hoseok doesn't think so.
Hoseok has tried to talk to Yoongi of course. Yoongi is always at the Kim's bookstore. He has an obsession with the piano. And when Jimin is hanging out with Taehyung or Jungkook at the tattoo parlor, Yoongi will also be there. But Yoongi doesn't seem to have any interest in Hoseok. And that's new.
But for Yoongi, it's the opposite. Yoongi can't stand to be near the older because of how intimating he is. Hoseok is older, taller, hotter, and could crush Yoongi with his fingers. Yoongi is the type to be scared, he's just intimidated. And slightly turned on.
Not to mention, Hoseok saw him in little space. And Yoongi was hoping to keep that a secret. Yoongi almost never slips into little space. It's only when he's extremely stressed and worked up or when someone purposely triggers it. Yoongi's younger cousins trigger it, in a good way. He plays with them and just slides into it naturally.
Yoongi and Jimin is sitting on their couch. Yoongi is reading a book on how to enhance your cooking skills, Jimin is in a group chat with Taehyung and Jungkook. Both of them are quiet. It's very contentful. That is, until they are interrupted by knocking from the front door.
Both of the boys look at each other. "Nose goes!" Yoongi says, pressing his finger against his nose.
Jimin groans, pocketing his phone as he stands up. "I hate that game." He walks to the front door, looking through the peephole. He smiles and opens the door. "Hi Hoseok Hyung!" He smiles brightly.
Hoseok smiles back. "Hey, is Yoongi home?"
Jimin nods. "He is. Come on in." Jimin allows him in and shuts the door behind him. "Hyung, Hoseok is here for you."
Yoongi's ears perk. He looks over at the two entering the room. Hoseok is dressed is simple shorts and a T-shirt. It makes Yoongi's mouth water anyways. He closes his book, putting a book mark in it.
"Uh, hi Hyung," Yoongi says. "Can I help you?"
Hoseok does this thing with his eyes. His eyes will quickly pan up and down Yoongi's body before making contact with Yoongi's eyes. It makes his knees weak. Hoseok just looks into Yoongi's eyes with confidence. "Yeah, I was wondering if you'd like to get ice cream with me?"
Yoongi looks at Jimin. The youngest has a huge grin. He doesn't realize how anxious Yoongi feels around anyone. It pains Yoongi to crush Jimin. "Uh, by ourselves?"
Hoseok nods. "I just want to spend some time with you. We are in the same friend group and I know nothing about you."
Yoongi swallows thickly and starts to scratch his hand. "Um, I don't know... it's pretty hot outside and I don't want to pass out again."
"That's okay, Hyung. I'll help you pick out clothes!" Jimin says. "He'll be ready in a minute Hoseok Hyung!" Jimin grabs Yoongi's wrist and pulls him into the olders room.
"Jimin, I can't do this," Yoongi says. "I don't feel okay. I'm too anxious."
Jimin is already pulling a white shirt out of the closet along with black shorts. "Hyung, you feel anxious about everything. It's good for you to make friends. Just give it a chance. For me." He smiles, pouting slightly to win Yoongi over.
Yoongi sighs. "Fine, But only once. Just for you. Now get out so I can get dressed."
Jimin makes a squeaky noise and goes out of the room. "He'll be right out Hoseok Hyung. Now, would you like water or anything?"
Hoseok shakes his head. "No, I'm alright."
"Is Taehyung working today?" Jimin asks.
"I'm not sure. I saw that I didn't have to work and was satisfied," Hoseok says. Jimin nods.
Yoongi slowly exits his room. He feels so weird to be in shorts around the older, and he changes into a black shirt instead of white. He has a black bucket hat on and black converse. Hoseok smiles at him. Yoongi comes closer and offers a small smile back.
"Ready?" Hoseok asks.
Yoongi nods. His hands are slightly shaking. He's keeping himself under control, but he's terrified of something surprising him and he having a full break down. Or worse, slipping into little space.
"Alright. Let's go."
Yoongi follows Hoseok out of the apartment building. Hoseok walks a lot faster than Yoongi, so Yoongi slightly jogs to keep up. The older is taller and has way longer legs. Yoongi blames that and the fact that he doesn't like to move.
"So, ice cream?" Hoseok asks.
"Uh, Yeah. Where is the ice cream place?" Yoongi asks. He starts to get out of breath.
"Just a quick walk away."
Yoongi grabs onto Hoseok's arm. "Hyung, can we slow down?" He pants slightly.
Hoseok looks at him with a small smile. "Of course, Yoongi." Hoseok slows his pace to match Yoongi. "So, what flavor of ice cream do you like?"
"I'm not sure. I don't eat it a lot," Yoongi says. He can't help but wonder why Hoseok has brought him. What's his motive?
"Oh, well, chocolate is always good. My personal favorite is sherbet. It's fruity," Hoseok says. They arrive at the ice cream parlor. Hoseok guides them to the small line. "Just get anything you want. I'm paying."
Yoongi looks at him. He doesn't want Hoseok to spend money on him. He looks at the choices. A worker comes up to Hoseok and asks what he wants. Yoongi cowards behind Hoseok when the man looks over at him. Yoongi just never feels safe.
"And what would you like?" The worker asks.
Yoongi stares at the flavors. "Uh...v-vanilla in a c-cup, p-please," Yoongi stutters. He goes over different methods in his head to calm down. He doesn't want to slip into head space.
Hoseok leans down to his ear. "How about you go sit by the window. I'll be over soon with our ice cream."
Yoongi nods. He goes to the seat Hoseok gestured to. He sits down and closes his eyes. He counts in his head to calm down. It works a little. He's able to stop heavy breathing. Hoseok joins him, he places the cup of vanilla in front of him.
"Hey, do you want to leave?" Hoseok asks.
Yoongi shakes his head. "No, I'm okay."
Hoseok sighs. "That man was really unprofessional. He checked you out right there, when you clearly came here with me. I mean, he should assume things."
"Assume what?" Yoongi asks.
"Well imagine if me and you were dating and he checked you out. As your boyfriend I'd be mad," Hoseok says.
Yoongi eats his ice cream quietly. "It was very awkward."
"Yeah, but who can blame him?"
Yoongi ignores Hoseok's indirect compliment. "So, why did you really ask me to come out with you? It's not because you want to become besties." Yoongi feels a surge of confidence.
Hoseok frowns. "Well, I do want to learn more about you. But I have a few questions."
"What?"
"What happened at the party?"
Yoongi swallows hard. He eats another small spoonful of ice cream. He lets it melt in his mouth before answering. "What do you mean?"
"You changed at the party. It was like a completely different person. Do you have DID?" Hoseok asks.
Yoongi sets his spoon down. "I was drunk."
"No you weren't. I didn't see you take a drink at all throughout the party," Hoseok says. "You were like a kid."
Yoongi looks at his hands. He feels small now. Hoseok is so big and is making him shrink. He looks around the parlor. There's kids with their parents, couples, and even just teens hanging out. It's loud. And small.
"I wanna go home," Yoongi says. He's slipping into head space. He can't help it. He's just overwhelmed.
"Just tell me what happened," Hoseok says. "Who was that at the party?"
"It was me," Yoongi says, his words slurring together slightly. "Wanna go home."
"What's your name?" Hoseok asks.
"Yooni."
"Okay, are you four years old?" Hoseok asks. He remembers Yoongi telling him that he was four at the party.
"Mhm," Yoongi says. "I'm sleepy."
Hoseok smiles when he realizes he's made Yoongi give up again. "Okay, we can go play at your house. Do you want that?"
Yoongi smiles a little. "Yes please."
"Okay, finish your ice cream and we can go," Hoseok says.
Yoongi finishes. His face has the white cream on it. Hoseok can't help but find him adorable. He wipes the youngers face and sends him to the bathroom to wash himself. Hoseok cleans up their table a little so the workers don't have to worry so much about it. Yoongi comes out and they leave.
"So Yoongi, can you tell me what happened  to you at the party?" Hoseok asks. He doesn't feel as bad as he should taking advantage of the younger in his state. "Why do you change?"
"I'm little now. Little Yooni," Yoongi says with a lisp. He step has a small skip. "I feel good this way."
Hoseok grabs his arm and pulls him back. A motorbike zooms by where Yoongi was about to step. "Jesus, you fucking wanna die? You have to watch where you're going," Hoseok says.
Yoongi's mood drops. His mouth forming a pout and his eyes saddening. "Sorry," he mumbles. He stays quiet the rest of the walk home. Hoseok feels bad for scolding him, but he doesn't see why it effected Yoongi so much. He's just looking out for him. Maybe it's the state of mind he is in. Maybe it makes him extremely sensitive since he's like a kid.
Yoongi takes his shoes off at the door and shuffles to his room. Hoseok follows him, only to see Yoongi face first on his bed bawling.
