TW: Swearing throughout chapter

Previously on TCAOTS:

"Yeah wh-" he cut himself off as he saw who was talking to him "SQUIP" he shouted his eyes widening in panic. Quickly grabbing his backpack, he tried to back away. At the mention of the Squip, everyone dropped what they were doing looking over to Jeremy. Everyone had their eyes on him, and someone else. they all looked to each other in panic. Michael decided to ask what everyone was all thinking.

"You see it too, right?"

Now on TCAOTS:

Dustin's POV

I returned to the gate thankfully sneaking past the teachers. I walked over too our little group of friends who were still sitting at the gate. I didn't have to look up from my phone to tell that the atmosphere was tense. I looked up when I heard a voice that could only be Michael's yell, "You see it too, right?" I looked over to the place everyone was staring at and saw... something... how do I describe this? It was basically Keanu Reeves in the Neo outfit from The Matrix. (I'm a huge fan), but that's not what made it weird. What made it weird was that he was glowing blue and was semi- translucent. Like you could see the color of his clothing but they were practically glitching and tinted blue.

"HOLY SHIT!"

The nearby families glared at Chloe for swearing in front of their kids. Clearly, none of us had the time to care. I pushed up my glasses and got a closer look at it. The thing stared at me in curiosity. The same look that I think I might be giving it. I went to touch it but my hand phased right through it. My hand felt like static. Similar to the feeling of an arm "falling asleep".

"Hello" I jumped back several feet not expecting it to talk to me. "Umm hello?" Jeremy immediately stood up after getting over the shock. "What the hell is my squip doing still active!" I looked at him."So this is your squip?" I asked gesturing to the holographic projection next to me. Though I don't know what else it could have possibly been. Either a 'squip' or one hell of a cosplayer. Michael finally walked over throwing a protective arm around his best friend.

"This must be the reason for all your headaches, Jere". Jeremy started to panic. "Please tell me someone has any Mountain Dew Red". He begged looking to the group. Michael ran to go to a nearby Subway in the building to get the soft drink. Which seemed to start coming back more after the squip-cident was on the news. But of course, he was stopped by the teachers. Now Michael was arguing with them, not that the teacher seemed to care about whatever he had to say.

"Excuse me?" I jumped again. I needed to get this thing a bell. "Umm yes?" I responded still skeptical that it was even speaking to me. As far as I knew only the host could see or interact with the squip. "Are you a friend of Jeremy Heere?" "Uhh yea"
"You say "Uhhh" and "Umm" a lot. Are you ok?"

I didn't know if it was intended to be offensive because I heard stories of how Squips were mean but, this thing seemed too concerned for me to be completely evil. I just stood there like a gaping fish. Seriously, what was I supposed to do? I was impressed with this technology (Note to self: Learn more about its technological design later).
Michael continued arguing with a teacher to get a drink from a nearby shop. Airport security told us to get rid of all liquids so he didn't have his anymore. Jeremy was shaking in his seat and Christine went over to comfort him.

"What the fuck!" Madeline exclaimed running over to me and showed me a picture on her phone. I didn't get it there's nothing there. I looked at her confused. She pointed at the squip and then back at her phone. It seemed to click at that moment. "It's like some sort of computer vampire," She said in amazement. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her. The simile she provided wasn't very ethical but I suppose its the best she could come up with. Not that we had any logical thing to compare it too.

"I just don't understand," Jeremy's eyes showed pure terror,"how can you guys see it!".

The squip seemed to snap into a fixated position before starting to speak.
"In the 4.0 updated version of the S.Q.U.I.P, we focus on the happiness and well being of those you love and care about as well. So to improve our systems we added the visual freedom to them which improves your personal state as well as theirs. A S.Q.U.I.P. for the whole family!" The 'squip' said.

I felt like that was a script they made for an infomercial. Who am I kidding, it definitely is. The squip shook their head a bit as if to shake away the words it just spoke. The stood still for a second and everyone watched in anticipation scared of what it would do. Slowly, it walked over to its host, Jeremy and kneeled down next to him.

"Are you ok, why are you so scared?" They asked quickly in a calm tone. Is it actually trying to comfort him?

"You know damn well why he is scared" way to go, Jake. I figured he would be the one to upset it. I sighed softly, though everyone else was holding there breath.

"I remember he was my host" they began. Standing up, they faced the rest of the group. "I don't understand did I do something wrong?" They asked cocking their head to the side as if to prove it was confused.

"Oh my god. Do they actually not know?" Jake said, not buying it.

"It seems the squip has no memory system of past events with Jeremy." I elaborated. On one hand, I didn't understand how the 'squip' couldn't just log into Jeremy's long-term memory and figure out himself, on the other, I understood Jeremy would not like his privacy breached like that.

Note to self: Prioritize friend's wishes over logic.

"Gate 420 flight to Japan is now boarding all coach passengers. Please reach the gate doors in an orderly fashion" The loudspeaker said.

Well, how are we supposed to figure this out now!

-----------------------------------------------------------

AN- the reason squip cannot remember the events of the play is because the mountain dew red caused the computer to detach from the brain. The squip is still in his head, but not attached to the brain, so They don't have the same power they used to
