"Please, sweetheart, just tell me what's going on." You heard your boyfriend (Hunter Hayes) plead through the closed bedroom door. You were crying your eyes out so hard you could barely breath. "I just can't Hunter. I cant." You cried into your pillow. "Can you at least open the door? Please?" He said. "HUNTER GO AWAY JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!" You screamed, suprising yourself how mad you were. You heard silence followed by the front door opening and then closing confirming Hunter had left which just made you cry even more.
You were crying becuase he was such a great boyfriend to you. He would buy you or make you dinner, bought you presents, took you on dates, etc. You weren't as good of a girlfriend back to him, you didn't deserve him, he deserved better. You had invited him over to break up with him but you couldn't without breaking down into tears, which is why you were crying right now. You didn't wanna break up with him, but you knew he deserved better. You didn't have many choices.
You were able to eventually calm yourself down and you decided to go get some fresh air and when you walked out the front door you saw Hunter sitting there on the porch. He turned around gave you a little smile and scooted over so you could sit next to him. You sat down without saying a word. You leaned your head on his shoulder and said, "I'm sorry." "It's okay, sweetie, you were just stressed." He said, see, he was such a better boyfriend than you were a girlfriend, you had to break up. But how? You just decided to blurt it out. "I'm..... breaking up with you," you blurted out and then bit your tongue. "WHAT WHY?? What did I do? I can fix it!! I can do better!! Please don't do this I need you." He said, almost crying. You cleared your breath. And decided how you could say this.
"You are such a great boyfriend to me; you cook for me, take me on dates, buy me presents, always hang out with me, make me feel better, and so much more. And I love it and I try to do the same for you but I never feel like I do and you deserve better. A better girlfriend, that's why," and then you broke down crying. He just held you as you cried. Once you had calmed down he took your head in his hands and made you look at him. "That's not how I feel. I need you. I do all that stuff because I want to not because I have to. You don't have to do anything in return you do so much, anyways. You made me remember what love is really about, you made me remember why I loved music so much, you saved me in so many ways; and for that I'll always be grateful. I love the way you love me and I hope someday I can make you see that," he said. And you just nodded ok.
You two spent the rest of the day enjoying each other's company on your front porch.
