Pain. Pain is an amazing thing. It can be physical or mental or emotional. Pain.

How could he do this to me. Why. After three years of love and compassion, he...

A loud car horn interrupts my thoughts. Great. Just what I need. I get out the car and look at the driver. And to my surprise Amanda is staring right back at me. She gets out the car with a huge smile.
"Hi sweetie."
"Oh shut up you-"
"Let me stop you right there." She said with her hand up. "Before you start on your childish rants, you should know, I don't want him. I don't do relationships. So, you can have him back."
I lost my cool after she said that, so I ran up to her and smacked her. Hard. She screamed and held her left cheek. I smiled in satisfaction, even though my hand stung like crap.
I get back in the car and drive off. I don't know where I'm going exactly but I end up Starbucks. I know. I'm basic. So sue me.
After I place my order I sit on one of the couches towards the back. I see a couple walk in, laughing, smiling. In love.

"Douglas! Stop! Please!" I say losing my breath due to laughing so hard. He was sitting on my legs and pinned my arms down with one hand and tickled me with the other.
"Not until you say it" he said laughing at my attempt to escape.
"Please... Let... Me... Go!" I say through my laughter.
"Than say it, Sunshine."
"Fine," I clear my throat. "I, y/f/l/n, love you, Douglas Ryan."
He stopped ticking me. "What did you say?" Here says with an eyebrow raised.
"I said, I love you."
He smiles warmly at me his brown eyes burning a hole in me. " I love you too baby." He leaned down and kissed me on the lips. "I love you so much." He whispers and as the kiss grew more passionate, our love for each other grew too.

"Iced cappuccino for y/n." The barista says.
I stand up top claim my coffee. I walk out the door and start checking my phone for calls when someone runs into me. The impact caused my coffee to spill all over my sweater. Thank God I have a tank top underneath.
"Oh God, I'm sorry." The man says. I look up at him. He's pretty cute.
"No, no it's my fault. I wasn't paying attention."
"Well I really am sorry a bout your sweater." He says looking down.
"It's ok," I say. I start to take off my sweater and reveal my tank top underneath. "Thank God it was an iced coffee."
"Yeah. Hey could you help me? My friends are meeting me at Pacific Trails Middle School and I got kinda lost."
I start laughing, a) because that school is in San Diego not LA b) as soon as I'm single and heartbroken, this beautiful man happens to need my help.
"What? What did I say?" He says.
"Hmm, oh nothing it's just PTMS is in San Diego."
"Oh, thank you for that." He says embarrassed. "Take my hoodie," he says. "It's kinda chilly out." He takes off his black Thrasher hoodie and hands it to me.
"Thanks." I say putting it on. "I'm y/n." I say holding out my hand.
"I'm Jack." He says shaking it. He was attractive. His hair was super curled. His eyes were liquid chocolate and tattoos ran down his neck and arms; I just wasn't into him. I guess it's due to sudden heartbreak.

Jack walks me back to my car as we converse about his coffee addicted friend.
"Well I'll see you around." He says interrupting my thoughts.
"What about your hoodie?" I say pointing at it.
"Oh yeah," he says pulling out his phone. "Give me your number and I'll text you when I need it back." He says with a smile.
"Okay." I start punching in my number and I give him his phone back. "Bye."
"Bye." He says.
