Jonah
She was sitting at the top of the stairs, staring at nothing with tears rolling down her cheeks. I don't know who he is, but I do know that he hurt her. I don't know how, but he did.
Her sobs are quiet but noticeable. After 5 minutes, she stands up walks down the stairs, sits on the couch and resumes the movie. I follow her and sit next to her, making sure to keep my distance.
I want to ask her who he was and what he said, but the look on her face is what stops me. She's trying to stay strong, but her eyes waver and water. She's not looking at the movie at all. She stares at the TV as if she can see through it.
About an hour and a half, she drifts to sleep. She's laying away from me, her head on the armrest. I start to pick her up when her eyes slowly open.
"What are you doing?" She asks sleepily.
"Taking you to bed,"
She nods her head then stands up.
"Sorry. It's late and you probably want to go home and you're here babysitting me," she dips her head and her hair falls on her face. I lift her chin with my thumb and look into her eyes. I've never realized how dark her eyes can turn when she's upset. Her hazelnut skin is tinted red from crying.
"I rather be here with you. I know it's a cliche line, but it is how I feel." I just don't know if she feels the same.
"I better go upstairs before I pass out again," she forces out a chuckle.
"Let's get you upstairs then."
I let go of her chin and grab her hand. I lead her upstairs and take her to what I think is her room. She grabs a pair of shorts and a tank top then heads to the bathroom. She comes out and hovers over me. Since I'm sitting on the bed she's much taller.
"Could you stay the night?" Her voice was quiet.
"Whatever you want," I give her a smile.
"I don't have anything for you to wear," she says climbing into bed.
"That's okay,"
Since I had on sweat pants I just took of my shirt and got into bed with her.
She puts her head on my chest and her hand on my waist. I tangle my fingers in her hair. Her breathing is steady.
"You deserve to know," she starts, "who was on the the other line."
"Only tell me when your ready,"
She props herself on her elbows. "I am,"
She begins to talk about her recent engagement with Douglas, and the woman he cheated on her with, how he cheated before but she overlooked it, that he wanted something that she was waiting to give. That he would feel her up before he would go out again to make sure she would stay with him.
An hour passes and she's asleep. Which gives me time to think. He left her, but why? She's beautiful and smart and he was in his right mind to propose. He wanted something that I couldn't give him yet. Analyzing her words was difficult, but her body was easy to read. She crossed her legs together as if hiding something. Something that Douglas wanted. Then it hit me. He wanted sex. She couldn't give it to him. She wanted to wait. She was a virgin. What a jerk. Who leaves someone for a reason as stupid as that.
I look at the clock 6:43am. I was going to be late. I try to easy myself from y/n without waking her up. I pick up my shirt and head downstairs for my shoes.
"Morning,"
I turn around to see y/n walking down the stairs. She combs her hair with her fingers.
"Morning. How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good,"she yawns out. "Why are you sneaking out?"
"I was gonna be late meeting up with boys."
She nods her head, "Let me at least make you breakfast."
"If you insist," I say putting my shoes back down.
She makes bacon, eggs, and a fruit salad. We talk about our families and dream jobs and our likes and dislikes. I stayed for another hour before I had to leave.
"Sorry for keeping you so long." She says picking up the plates.
"Im really sorry about everything." I say remembering our conversation last night.
"You have nothing to be sorry about."
She hops up and sits on the island in the kitchen and looks at me. "I know that I was riddling my words but the main reason he... he..." tears well up on her eyes and she looks down.
"I know."
I get up to help her put she gestures for me to sit down. "Let me help you."
She smirked a little wiping away the tears. "You can help me by letting me help you,"
Wow. She just used my song against me.After we cleaned up she hugged me goodbye. Her hair smelt like green apples, her skin like lavender. As soon as I walked out the door I felt guilt. I knew what she was going through yet I still left her alone. Asshole.
I walk in my house and try to call for the boys but they must have left before I came. That gives me enough time to shower and dress and then head out again.
"I wonder what took you so long Mr. Sex object." Corbyn booms. The boys along with Logan laughter echo across the house.
"Haha very funny, Cor." I roll my eyes.
"Anyways, we need a game plan," Logan says trying to calm the situation. "I'm thinking we head by the walk of fame and start rolling there."
"Sounds nice," Jack nods. "But seriously Jonah if you hurt her I have to come for you." He says seriously.
"I won't hurt her."
"Unless he hurts her in another way" Corbyn wiggles is eyebrows.
Zach laughs and Dani starts praying.
Damn.
