"Baby please call me back. Let's talk it out please? I love you." I listened to his voicemail over and over again. Each time pain stabs me in the heart. I drive to my mom and dads house to break the news to them. I park my car in their driveway. With tears in my eyes I look down at my engagement ring. ⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠 Douglas takes me to an expensive Italian restaurant. I kept telling him I'm not like that but he shoved me into a car anyway. "Okay, so you must be wondering why I took you here. Ignore the stupid question." I smile and roll my eyes. He looks down and blushes. "Listen, I love you. I do but, I don't want to be your boyfriend anymore." I look at him quickly. His eyes were still down so I couldn't tell if he was serious or not. "Are you kidding me?" I whisper screamed. "No baby, I'm serious. I can't go on another day knowing I'm your boyfriend," I start to cry. Why would you do this? I start to gather my coat and purse when his hand lands on my arm. "I can't go another day because I don't want to be your boyfriend. I want to be your husband." He smiles an apologetic smile and bends on one knee in front of me with a small ring box in hand. "Y/f/l/n, will you marry me?" My eyes tear up again. Not from sadness but from happiness. So of course I had to say, "Yes!" ⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠⚫💠 I have to tell them. I get out the car and knock on the door.
"He did WHAT!?!?" "Honey, calm down." "No I won't calm down!" "Mom, please calm down. Lilly and Micah are trying to sleep." My brother Hunter says trying to help Dad calm our Mom down. "He hurt my baby girl." "I know Mom but maybe we should comfort y/n instead of cussing out Douglas." Mom processed this for a while. Her face went from angry to soothing as she walked over to me. "Baby, how are doing?" "I'm fine mom, honestly." I say with a weak smile. "Mhm," she says doubtful. "I swear I'm fine." "So in guessing the wedding is called off?" Dad says. "Well, in that case," mom says trying to lighten the mood. "Let's get you something to eat." "Okay." She wraps her arms around me and leads us to the kitchen.
I spend the next two days with my family. Eating ice cream and watching An Affair To Remember with Mom; watching basketball with Dad; having dirt bike races with Hunter; and taking care of my little brother and sister. When it was time to leave I hugged them all and kissed them goodbye.
I step into my house, quiet after a long trip. I immediately collapse on my bed and sleep.
I wake up to the sound of my phone vibrating. I look at it and I see an unknown number.
Unknown: hey y/n Me: uhh Me: who is this? Unknown: Jack from Starbucks Me: ohh hey. Jack: I have a birthday party I'm planning for my friend Jack: I would love if you came
A party? Did I really want to go?
Me: yea sure Me: what time? Jack: 7pm Me: can I invite some friends? Jack: of course!!! Me: send me your address.
I fall back in bed it's only 9 in the morning. I could go back to bed. Before I could even close my eyes my phone vibrates again.
Jack: btw I'm gonna need my hoodie back. Jack: and bring a swim suit
I laugh and roll out of bed, knowing there is no possible way I could go back to sleep.
I call Anna and ask her if she has plans. She says no so I invite her to Jack's party. I tried to find something cute for me to wear. Nothing too fancy. Nothing too slutty. After an hour of sifting through my clothes, I finally find the perfect outfit.

get in my Jeep and drive to her house. We drive for 30 minutes to Jack's house. We gape in awe at his house. There had to be more people living there than just him. We get out the car and walk to the front door. There was a sign that says Please go around the house and you'll find the party When we walk around the house we see a large pool and a hot tub beside it. There's a table full of burgers, chips, donuts, cookies, Starbucks cups filled with iced lattes and a large Harry Potter cake. "Well they certainly know how to party." Anna whispers. "Y/n! You made it!" Jack runs to me and gives me a bear hug. "Wouldn't miss it for the world." "This must be your friend. I'm Jack." "I'm Anna." "I want you to meet my boys. Boys get over here for an introduction!" All of a sudden four boys ran up to Jacks side. The last one to run up was taller and looked older than the rest. "I'm Zach." The shorter one says. He has dark brown hair and eyes the shade of roasted chestnuts. thanks "I'm Daniel." He was taller than that Zach guy. Brown hair brilliant blue eyes and a tooth gap that looked adorable against his godlike features. "I'm Jack. Which you already know." He says with a smirk. I'm Corbyn." He was a bit taller than Jack and Zach bit shorter than Daniel. He has brown hair tipped with platinum blonde. His eyes were full of color. Blue, green and light brown. Beside him was a girl who looks super familiar. She has brown hair cut to her shoulders, brown eyes and makeup that looks like it was professionally done. "I'm Jonah," He says looking at me. His hair was a deep brown with dark eyes. "The birthday boy." "Happy Birthday Jonah." I say. He keeps staring at me smiles and looks away. He's cute. "And we're Why Don't We." They say in unison. "So your a boy band?" Anna asks. "No we're a man band." Zach says emphasizing 'man'. "Oh, ok." She says playfully rolling her eyes. "Well," Zach starts. "I hope you brought swimsuits because," he pushes Corbyn into the pool with a big splash. "You're next." Me and Anna run to the side and quickly takes off our clothes and reveal our swimsuits underneath. In an instant I feel arms around my waist and I'm up in the air. "I told you you were next." He says in my ear and then I'm thrown in the water. I swim to the top and see Jonah's hand. "Looks like you need some help." I take his hand with a friendly smile and with all my strength, I pull him into the water with me. He recovers quickly and lifts me bridal style and tosses me in the air, leaving me to land in the water. I emerge from the water and I see him smiling at me. "Never underestimate me." He says playfully. "Yes sir." I say with a head nod.
