Please know that time has passed between the time when Jimin and Yoongi were just basically fuck buddies and now - as I read it back, it seems extremely rushed, but they have gotten to know each other and become close friends, I just haven't written those parts out. Just a heads up, so you know before the events of this chapter! Enjoy! :-)

Figuring out what was happening inside Yoongi's head might be more difficult than finding a therapist, mostly because Jimin isn't entirely sure he wants to know.

Yoongi texts him first the same evening of the piano incident.

Yoongi
Drive around with me for a bit? I want to talk to you about something

Jimin
Sure, are you home?

Yoongi
Yeah, meet me outside my door

Jimin tells Taehyung and Jungkook his plans. His stomach is in knots by the time he puts on his shoes and walks the nine steps to Yoongi's door, but when it opens and the older man stands in front of him with a soft smile, they untangle a little bit. The walk to the car is silent, and Jimin lets the silence linger once they're buckled in and pulling out of the lot.

"Can I ask you something?" Yoongi tries, not wanting to ask the horrifying question that has been lingering for weeks.

Jimin nods before realizing Yoongi might not be able to see him out of the corner of his eye, so he says "yeah" quietly.

"I don't want to assume anything, Jimin, but I've noticed a few things that made me think," Yoongi starts, hoping that Jimin will catch his drift and not make him say it.

"Okay...?"

Yoongi sighs, turning down an empty road without using his turn signal. Jimin was clearly not catching his drift. "Are you being abused?"

"Not anymore," Jimin laughs, before looking up to see the horrified look on Yoongi's face. "I'm sorry, sometimes I forget that I shouldn't joke about it like that. It's easier to laugh. If I laugh, I won't cry."

Yoongi feels like crying. Or murdering whoever put his hands on Jimin. Maybe both.

Jimin speaks again before Yoongi can formulate a response. "I'm fine now, Yoongi, really. He's in jail. Nobody's hurting me anymore."

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"If you tell me after why you suspected it."

Jimin spends the next 45 minutes explaining the whole situation to Yoongi, just like he did for his therapist hours earlier. It's easier this time, but he still cries.

"I'm sorry. I can imagine why you'd be scared to get involved with anybody after that," Yoongi says quietly.

"So why'd you think it was happening? Do I have 'damaged' written on my forehead?"

"No! No," Yoongi sighs. "The first time I came to your apartment, when we were both locked out, I found notes on the fridge that were kinda mean. I thought maybe it was a joke, but then you had that panic attack today, plus Namjoon and Jin were always so adamant about me being careful with you, I just put the pieces together, I guess."

Jimin laughs so hard he's leaning forward, clutching his stomach with one hand and the dashboard with the other. Yoongi would be offended, maybe should be offended that he's laughing at him like this, but the sight is so wholesome and beautiful, he can't bring himself to be upset. He is confused, though.
