Chapter title : Did you mean advanced math?
Leaving her house that morning she was greeted but the chilly autumn weather and the screams of those two boys once again. Putting her earphones in her ears, she continued to walk down her street, playing with a leaf in her hand. That was until she was bowled over and landed face first onto the pavement.
Meadow groaned, her earphones unplugging and greeting the neighborhood with the blast of Green Day. She heard two people around her, whispering to each other.
"Mikey! Look what you did!" She heard someone whisper-yell.
"Me?! Gerard, you were the one chasing me!" The other person retaliated.
"Well maybe you should watch where you are going next time." The first voice responded.
Meadow sat up and clutched her nose, a stream of blood going down her hands and onto the floor. Grabbing her earphones and a tissue from her pocket, she got up and was about to continue walking when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Meadow turned around a faced a boy with blonde hair, behind him being another boy with black hair swept across his face.
"Your face!" The boy in front gasped. Meadow lifted her hands from her face and saw they were covered in blood. "Did I do that?"
"Technically no. It was the floor." Answered Meadow, applying the tissue to her nose, "it's not broken by the way, just bleeding. I know what I broken nose feels like."
"You're from Australia." The boy from behind notes.
"Yes, and you're from America." States Meadow, turning around to continue her way to school.
The two boys jogged up to her, the blonde one holding out his hand, "hi I'm Mikey Way, sorry for knocking you over," Mikey said sheepishly, holding out his hand. "Oh yeah and that's my older brother Gerard," he gestured to the taller boy.
Meadow hesitantly shook his hand, "I'm Meadow Shultz, and it's okay, the floor did the real damage anyway."
The group continued to walk in silence, much to Meadow's pleasure, sometimes silence was just the way to cope in life. However, that silence was soon interrupted.
"So you listen to Green Day?" Asked Mikey.
"Well yes, the entire neighborhood did hear it this morning when it blasted out of my phone," said Meadow like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"What's your favourite song?"Piped up Gerard.
"You say that like it's easy to answer!" Exclaimed Meadow, "but if I had to choose it would be Basket Case. Dookie is the best album by far."
"Ah so you're like Mikey, Dookie nerds." Chuckled Gerard.
"Hey! Dookie is a great album, although I do have to disagree and say that When I Come Around is better than Basket Case." Mikey retorted, starting up an argument with his brother about Green Day.

As Meadow arrived at school she found out that Mikey went to the same school as her and was in her year, Gerard went to the college down the road and was studying art.
When Mikey and Meadow arrived at Belleview High, Meadow immediately split off from Mikey in order to go to her locker and prepare for her first class; advanced math.
Walking into math class, with her head down, she proceeded to sit in the front row when she was stopped by a figure. Lifting her head up, she was greeted by the sight of a beaming Mikey Way.
"Meadow! It's me, Mikey, we take math together!" He exclaimed.
"Advanced math," Meadow corrected, "and yes it seems we do." She placed her books onto her desk and sat down, watching Mikey doing the same.
"Well yes, advanced math, I can already feel the regret coming in." Mikey lightly chuckled.
"Then why did you take it?" Asked Meadow.
"It would look good on my college applications," shrugged Mikey, "why did you choose advanced math?"
"Well I want to work at NASA and well you kind of need math for that," replied Meadow as she turned to face the front as the teacher began the lesson and latest topic; algebra.

Lunch came like the day before, and like yesterday the same boy came to her table. "Hi I'm Frank, I believe we met yesterday." The boy stated, sitting opposite Meadow.
"Yes we did," mused Meadow, not looking up from her book.
"I was talking to my friend Mikey, the boy who bloodied your nose this morning, and apparently you like Green Day. Is that correct?" Frank asked, leaning forwards.
"Is the sky blue?"
"I'm sorry what?" Replied Frank, surprised.
"Is the sky blue?" Asked Meadow again, "it's a simple question really, no need to become frazzled."
"Well yes, the sky is blue," Hesitantly said Frank, running a hand through his hair.
"Then yes, I do like Green Day."
"Why didn't you just say that instead of answering my question with a question of your own? It would have been much easier." Huffed Frank, already judging the girl before him.
Finally looking up to him, Meadow smirked, "what fun would that be?"
"Frank, what's taking so long? Just ask her to sit with us!" Shouted out a boy from the table Frank had come from.
"Yeah yeah, hang on Ray." Sighed Frank is response as he waved Ray off.
"Wait, Ray Toro?" Asked Meadow, curiosity evident in her voice.
"Yeah, why?" Responded Frank, turning to face Meadow again.
Before Frank got an answer from Meadow, she bolted towards his table while shouting "Princess Fro Fro!" Meadow ran up to Ray and hugged him from behind.
"Is that Prince Med?!" Gasped Ray, turning around to hug Meadow.
Frank came up behind them, his hands on his hips, "what is happening here?" He queried.
"Do you guys remember that Pen Pal I had a year or so back?" Questioned Ray, addressing the whole group.
"Yeah," they are chorused in response.
"You wouldn't shut up about it," a boy with glasses muttered.
"Well this is who I was talking to and who I met when my parents and I went to Australia for a holiday."
Everybody shook their heads in response, leaving Frank time to introduce Meadow to everyone.
"So that's Patrick," Frank pointed to the boy wearing glasses, "that's Pete," a boy with eyeliner waved, "and over there is Joe and Andy," finished Frank, showing Meadow a boy with red hair and one with an afro that could give Ray's a run for its money.
Ray moved aside and gave Meadow an opening to sit in, "anyway what are you doing here? In America I mean."
"Well after my mum, well you know, my grandmother decided that the best place for me to go was America, and besides she used to live here. Not to mention the hospital had to move mother her anyway because of the better facilities." Meadow explained, turning back to her book and ignoring all the odd glances people were giving her. It was off into the magical world of Hogwarts for Meadow, and she was not going to let anyone get in the way of it, even if it meant being a tad rude.
