It was the middle of the night and Josh started trying to move around. He obviously forgot that he was in my bunk with me.
“Josh,” I whispered, “Lay still!”
He was asleep so he couldn’t hear me.
“Josh!” I shook him, “Lay still!”
He still didn’t wake up.
“Josh!” I tried shaking him again but accidentally pushed him out of the bunk and onto the floor. It’s a good think my bunk was close to the ground.
He sat up as soon as his body came in contact with the ground.
“Erin, why did you push me off of the bed?”
“It was an accident. You were moving around a lot and I was trying to wake you up.”
“Do you want me to go to my own bunk?”
“No. I sleep better when I’m in your arms.”
I slid over and made room for him in my bunk. He climbed back in.
After Josh wrapped his arms around my waist and got comfortable, we fell back asleep.
“Welcome to Alabama!” Matt’s annoying voice filled the bus.
“Why can’t you people let me sleep?” Every day so far I had somebody wake me up.
“We have a show tonight!”
“What time is it?”
“Ten in the morning. I think eleven hours of sleep for you is enough.”
I rolled over to greet Josh with a good morning kiss, but he wasn’t next to me.
“Where’s Josh?”
“He’s getting everyone food.”
“Good. I’m starving.”
I climbed out of my bunk, surprised to see Matt in clothing.
“Is everyone else awake?”
“Yes.” Everybody moaned from their bunk.
“Did Matt wake you up too?”
“Yes.” They said in unison.
Lily jumped down from her bunk above mine. “Don’t you look beautiful this morning?” She said sarcastically.
“I know.” I touched my horrible bed head.
“Do you know what today is?”
“It’s a Monday.”
“It’s June eleventh.”
“Why does that date sound familiar?”
“It’s Josh’s birthday.”
“Oh crap, that’s right.”
“Do not say anything to him,” Matt said sternly.
“Why not?”
“We’re going to surprise him while we’re on stage tonight.”
“What are you going to do?”
