3rd Person: Lily

It was safe to say that Lily Evans was the absolutely terrified. The graduation of the Seventh Years was tomorrow. For her, that meant having to leave all her younger friends, and the protection of Hogwarts. Everyone knew that Hogwarts was the safest place those days, for Dumbledore was the only living wizard Voldemort ever feared, and she and her friends were all leaving that safe haven. There were Death Eaters on the loose. You-Know-Who on a killing spree for blood traitors, Muggle-borns, halfbloods and Muggles alike. She realised that leaving Hogwarts also meant practically throwing themselves in front of Voldemort. They could die out there. Lily's parents were dead. James's parents were dead. Marlene's too. Alice's parents fought back hard, winning against those blasted Death Eaters, which was pretty lucky, since the former Head of the Auror Department, Charlus Potter, and one of the most skilled Aurors, Dorea Potter, couldn't defeat them.

Lily Evans was downright terrified. She was only seventeen. She was too young to die. They all were. They haven't lived their life to the fullest that they could with a war brewing.

Lily was grateful for her sister, who had kept sending her letters of apologies for not being a better sister and for being a horrible person towards Lily. Of course, kind-hearted Lily Evans forgave her happily. It was quite good for her to know she still had family left.

"Lilyflower, come on! Mar wants you downstairs here in the Common Room." Sirius called.

She was with James and Remus in their dormitory. After the love potion incident, they had become closer than ever. They were almost inseperable.

"Alright! I'm coming!" Lily called back, before standing up from James' bed, causing a still sleeping James to groan at the loss of warmth.

Lily ran down the staircase, to be greeted by the sight of distressed 7th years who were checking every nook and cranny for things they might have left, but forgotten about them after daily Marauder pranks.

As she headed towards her best friend, she realised that Marlene look absolutely disgusted by whatever she was about to tell her.

"Grease boy wants to talk to you. Says he'll sleep outside the portrait hole if you won't come out."

Lily groaned. This was the second time. The second time! She thanked Marlene for the information before stepping out of the portrait hole to see Severus Snape in his sleeping clothes, looking absolutely hopeless.

"Lily! I-I'm sorry! I-I-I didn't—"

"Mean to? Mean to call me a Mudblood? Mean to take James away? Severus, your becoming more and more like your friends. I want to talk to Severus. My childhood friend, not a wannabe Death Eater."

"Lily! Wait, let me explain!"

"Explain? Okay then. Explain."

"I-I didn't know what I was doing. I-" he stopped, before bursting out into a full-on rant. "You said you hated Potter! You said so yourself that you preferred the bloody Giant Squid over that arse! You called him an arrogant toe-rag! You're fraternising with the enemy!"

Lily laughed humourlessly, which sort of creeped out the poor grease head, since Lily had always been happy around him, until Fifth Year. "Fraternising with the enemy?!" she exclaimed. "You got it the other way around, Severus. You're fraternising with the enemy! You're the one who suddenly uses the Dark Arts on innocent Muggle-borns for fun! You stooped down to the level where even James and Sirius couldn't even reach! Severus, really?! The Dark Arts! Talk to me once more once you're Severus Snape, the boy I was friends with. Goodnight." And with that final note, she stepped back into the Gryffindor Common Room, leaving Severus Snape feeling more devastated than before.
