(COSMOS; let you save you // 01.01.2019)

• • •

you are your own cosmos.

your eyelashes are dusted with moonbeam, white like fine powder;

your skin is edged with stardust, pools in crevices of your neck and elbows and shoulders;

your lips are lined with dying constellations, each an explosion honeysuckle sweet;

your heart is gravity and your veins are galaxies and your brittle bones are millenium-old stars and your eyes hold truth to the existence of fading light and you -

you are not of this world,

nor are you of the next.

you are your own cosmos,

a celestial being

a matter of the universe

an infusion of dying comets, a child of the heavens;

so do not let anyone fool you into thinking you are ever a mere star.
