The group of villains stood on top of the hangout build watching the night sky light up with early fireworks. Everyone was having fun drinking and joking while watching a small digital clock that sat on the building ledge as it slowly counted the minutes passing by.
"ok everyone ready?" Kurogiri asked giving everyone little noise makers
"hey, where Izu? He said he'd be back, but he's been gone for half an hour" Toga whined looking around the building.
"he'll be back just be patient" Kurogiri replied with a sigh
Dabi watched as a firework went off in the distance "I wonder where he went"

It was a cold and dark night, not one Inko wanted to spend alone anymore but here she was sitting at the dinner table in a dark house.
Knock knock
Inko looked over at her front door with curious eyes. Who could be knocking at this hour?
Slowly, she stood up and made her way to the door wiping away her tears to look more presentable.
"hello?" Inko let out a gasp and covered her mouth.
In front of her stood a nervous Izuku holding a small bouquet of flowers and a note card.
"hi mom" he smiled and stretched his arm out to hand he the flowers which she shakily grabbed.
"Izuku...you're here...like actually here?"
Deku nodded and glanced at the clock behind her

"if it's fine, I can stay for a little" Izuku offered with a soft smile.
Inko quickly nodded and hugged her son feeling more tears sting her eyes.
"My baby, I was so worried" she cried not letting go.
Izuku hugged her, used a free hand to close the door and carefully led her to the couch where he sat so they wouldn't have to stand anymore.
Once Inko stopped crying, immediately started asking him questions about how he was and if he was taking care of himself earning a laugh and assurance that he was doing alright.
The rest of the night was a calm one with One cooking last minute dinner for Izuku and them having small talk about how they've been. While talking, Deku had caught sight of the time

"oh, I have to go. The others are waiting for me" Izuku false dad stood up
"you're leaving?" Inko asked clearly disappointed as she grabbed his shirt sleeve silently begging him to stay.
"sadly yes, it's not safe for you if I stay. And anyways, I'm sure you won't be alone tonight" Izuku smiled and opened the door to leave.
"I love you mom" he smiled and left the house accidentally bumping into another woman
"ah sorry Mrs, Bakugo, and happy new years!" he laughed and continued running down the road.
Inko looked out the door and was met with familiar ash blonde hair.
"hell Inko! Kastuki had asked to celebrate with you and I'm glad he did." Mitsuki smiled showing her a small container of food she had made. "and who was the man that just left?" she looking down the road where he last was only to see empty space.
"just someone that I really needed to see" Inko replied and helped Mitsuki and Katsuki into the house and got ready for the new year.

"sorry I'm late guys had other things to do" Midoriya laughed and he climbed onto the building where the waiting group was. Immediately Toga hugged him almost knocking him off the roof.
"you almost missed it! We have a minute left!" she told him with a soft pout.
Midoriya laughed and walked to the group gently pushing her of him.
"sorry guys, I spent like a good few minutes rolling my dice to get the right quirk for this" he smiled and sat down ignoring the questioning stares.
"5..." everyone looked at Kurogiri and the clock realizing that he was counting down
"4..." Midoriya chanted with him, and soo never gone was counting
"3...2...1! Happy New Year's!" everyone shouted.
Suddenly, the sky was filled with multiple fireworks varying in colors and sizes, that were almost close enough to touch.
"is this your illusion quirk?" Kurogiri asked, and Deku nodded
"yep" he replied as a bright firework the the shape of Kurogiri appears in the sky
"oh oh! Me next!" Toga cheered and let out an excited cheer as a firework in the shape of her also appeared.
It was a good way to being the year for Izuku and he couldn't wish for it to be any better.
