anne was still nice to eddie. although it was clear that she and dan were not going to separate any time soon, she always made an effort to show that her feelings for eddie were still present.

anne was so nice, in fact, that she referred him to her own chiropractor.

"y'know we don't need this, i can fix your pain." venom had been whining the whole way here, continuously bitching about how they were all that eddie needed and that some "stupid medicine man" couldn't even compete with the symbiotes capabilities. to be fair, vee was probably right.

regardless, eddie sat in the waiting room and flipped a newspaper over and over between his two palms. he had already seen every article within the issue, but he felt a need to pick up some mindless task to distract from how impossibly annoying the voice in head was becoming. as he continued flipping, the sound of venoms pestering was only getting stronger. amongst the blabbering, eddie heard a few remarks along the lines of "you just want anne to know you are ok" and even some "i am a fucking alien, i am better than that puny doctor." the man let out a cackle, alarming the other three people in the rather gloomy waiting room.

he then tried to examine the room; he looked up and down the walls at posters of successful treatment options and advertisements alike. then his eyes wondered to the chairs, withered and grey- or was it green? ignoring that, he continued on, scanning his vicinity until his eyes landed on the front desk. behind it was a blonde woman, dressed in usual business and writing furiously in some kind of notepad. she then turned her attention to the computer, her fingers vigorously attacking the keys in a way that didn't seem too typical or even all that effective. although eddie had to have been staring at her for well over thirty seconds (for a man that had been talking to himself the entire visit, what else did he have to lose), she only spared him a passing glance when she transitioned between mediums. though her smile was momentary, it kind of reminded the man of anne.

"no! not anne! now can we leave?" venom shouted, making the twirling of the newspaper persist with an even hastier speed.

"y'know, i don't understand why you're so upset, we have been here for an hour literally doing nothing, not a thing, and you're angry at me?" he whispered angrily, the words slipping through his grinding teeth.

and as the last word was spat out, eddie was forcefully thrown up towards the ceiling and out of his seat. luckily, no one noticed the ascent until his feet hit the ground. as the occupants of the office awkwardly stared at him, he offered a meek smile and wave, as if to say "don't worry folks, it wasn't me, it was the giant alien in my body that made me fly like fucking superman." venom hissed from within his head, and the vibrations made him aware that the black mass was now spreading along his legs and attempting to maneuver them in the direction of the door.

"vee, please, no, can we just—" his symbiotic other was already walking him to the exit, very blatantly ignoring the eyes of everyone in the room being glued to their every action. with venom controlling most of his limbs, eddie could only sit within his own body and babble incoherently at each person he passed as a form of apologizing.

his face was becoming red and flustered, and as he turned away from everyone in the room the symbiotes snake-like tendrils crept up on his face and gently patted his cheeks. it was an oddly affectionate gesture that only somewhat brought his anxiety levels down for the moment, but as soon as he emerged from the door and closed it behind him, he was met with a steel fence overlooking the steep drop of the three-story complex. of course, they just had to be on the top floor. "vee, no, we can just take the stairs—"

venom had catapulted his hosts body off the safety of the concrete path. amidst the screaming and exclamation of quite a few creative expletives, the symbiotes larger form had fully encompassed eddie and readied their body for the impact of hard gravel. though it felt like minutes, the fall would bring the two to the ground in mere seconds. as soon as venom hit the ground they retreated back into eddie, allowing him to digest the reality of what had just happened. "i don't— like—heights" he spoke quickly in between short breaths.

"we can leave now" was all venom would respond.

"yeah, ok. yeah buddy, alright." eddie was still on-edge. with each step he took in the direction of the bus stop, his heart rate declined steadily. "maybe ill just walk the way home" he proposed, hopefully in an effort to soothe his now-heightened levels of anxiety.

"that would be wise." eddie could hear a laugh within venoms words.
