going out with venom was a resounding success, perhaps, but braving the bustling and crowded depths of a shopping mall sounded like an even more challenging feat than a mere late night date. eddie thought this over and over, his fears bouncing off the walls of his skull like a goddamn mantra, however, the man needed to pick up more than a few things. in the months that vee had grown to be a profound presence in his life, the symbiote had left behind more than a few messes along the way. "i do not ruin your things, you do, idiot..." vee grumbled.

eddie tolled his eyes. "how?? how the actual fuck is it my fault??" he retorted with a tinge of agitation in his tone.

venom was brimming with arguments to reply with, but the placement in the back of a rather scared looking bus audience kept them rather mellow. although they had already received more than enough stares to make eddie redden, it didn't seem to hinder his readiness to fight with his beloved. "no, no, fuck this bus—i wanna know why you keep blaming me for the messes you make!" eddie spat with a somewhat whispered voice.

he could feel venom emerging back into his mind, thoughts teeming and tentacles enlarging around the mans arms. "why are you so angry, huh?" the alien neutralized him with that single statement and eddie sunk into his erect posture with a sigh.

it was the fear that kept him itching for a fight, something that would remind him that his other was here, but also keeping him far from his brain as it swarmed with the suspicions of what could happen when the two were out and about. he wanted vee to engulf him without being hurt by the lingering thought that being with them was a dangerous task. even though it was just that, how could eddie let his otherworldly boyfriend down with his paranoia? how could he ensure that when venom got a bit heated, that they wouldn't bite the head off a store clerk and leave dozens of witnesses in their wake? how could he keep venom from re-enacting what had occurred months prior at mrs. chen's with that poor, scared guy with nothing but despair and longing left for him? he couldn't let vee ruin more people, and as desperate as he wished to keep this relationship as typical as possible, he knew what this symbiote was capable of. despite being nothing but a rational reasoning of what happens when venom is near, eddie didn't want to let venom in this time.

even if he wasn't gonna break down, he let his body slump into venoms mass. if he was gonna be depressed and angsty, he was at least going to do it with venom obliviously comforting him. "eddie...what is wrong?" the alien cooed.

"what's wrong? what's wrong is that you cum all over all my clothes!!" eddies voice was forced to lower with each dirty word that came out of his mouth.

"that definitely isn't the problem, eddie." the man was growing more tired

"get out of my head, asshole..." eddie whined, stepping outside the bus of concerned onlookers and sauntering past the glass doors of his local mall. following their date with anne and dan, eddie had made the embarrassing realization that his attire was less than desirable. his button downs and slacks from his more active reporting days fit a little snugger than they had preceding his post-venom diet. any other remaining clothes was surely used as a rag or a toy by the alien in an attempt to maintain the sloppy mess left in the wake of their own personal late nights, and eddie had grown tired of wearing the same black t-shirt and worn jeans on the rare occasion that his job actually imposed a real task upon him.

venom sighed internally. "well i quite like the black shirt..." they continued as eddie walked along storefronts, desperately trying to ignore his partner, "it matches me." that earned a tiny smile, something the man really couldn't help when venoms "mushy" side surfaced. as soon as that grin tickled at his lips, he immediately stifled it with a yawn and returned to his normal expression.
