ever since eddie was so stupid as to allow venom to indulge in a rom-com marathon, the symbiote was slowly becoming immersed into the world of film.

so the two decided, after having discussed how ridiculous it would be to attempt an actual date, that perhaps opting for a much more quaint arrangement would be better. though it seemed ever so juvenile to eddie, venom didn't see anything wrong with the two of them cuddling up to one another and shuddering as the horror movie in front of them was unfolding. the man hadn't found anything particularly scary after all the nonsense he had been through, however, there was something that somehow compelled a visible grimace to spread upon his face whenever an eerie image popped up on the screen. nonetheless, eddie still felt like a dumb teenager.

"why are you upset?" venom grumbled.

eddie squirmed about on the couch, venoms mess of black goo basically crushing their host. "im not upset..." the mans voice trailed off, readying himself for persistent bickering that was to ensue.

his thoughts were correct. "are you not enjoying this?"

although it was ultimately eddie that concluded that going on a normal date was not feasible at all, he still despised the idea of being isolated to his crappy apartment. sure, he wasn't afraid of others staring at him weird and wondering whether or not he was sane, it was stuff he had done before, but now the two had a true connection. eddie didn't want to sit himself down at the fanciest restaurant in san francisco and be forced to converse within his head. he didn't want to have to chew on expensive slab of steak and act like he didn't want to spit it out because it was "dead." the man wanted nothing more than to be able to go ice skating or take a walk in the park or even sneak in a few pecks at the cinema. if there's one thing eddie wasn't, it was normal, but at the moment, it was all he could've wanted.

eddies internal rambling was interrupted once more. "can i fix this?" venoms tendrils slowly extended down their others leg.

the man jolted up suddenly. "woah! vee, okay," he shifted uncomfortably, "i know you're eager to please, but that ain't the only way to do it, darling."

venom retracted swiftly, as if insulted by the rejection. "you weren't enjoying the movie..." he spoke in a solemn tone.

eddie rolled his eyes. "i am enjoying the cinematic masterpiece that is the descent, i just think that this is a little...childish??" he questionably proposed. despite knowing that venom couldn't even begin to comprehend that, he still extended the claim as if it would fix all his problems because, after all, that's what vee did. "i haven't done this since i was, like, sixteen. i-uh..." his complaints sunk back into his throat after seeing the face plastered on his boyfriends makeshift head. although it was only a mere scowl, it felt like a punch to the gut.

the sensation only became worse when the expression twisted into a look of anger. "i don't understand. you want to date. we can't go out, you're angry. we stay here, you're angry. we ask anne for help, you're angry" venom blabbered on. the alien, whilst making a point, was starting to piss eddie off.

in return, the man quickly stood up, removing himself almost entirely from the mass. "because asking anne to help us date is a stupid as shit!! you're supposed to be smart!!" eddie retorted as he waved his hands wildly. in an attempt to rid himself of this unwanted conflict, eddie turned abruptly to leave the room.

though believing himself to be trailing very far from his symbiotic half, the remaining strand holding the two together violently dragged him back to the couch. as the tendrils practically strapped the man into place, his face become red hot with a mixture of fury and embarrassment. "you are a pain in the ass!!" he yelled, finding that the only suitable disagreement he had with this situation.
