It was a normal day in the Sasaki Family Manor, which meant it was time for a sparring session. Silent, Tadashi and Asa were standing across each other in the open backyard, wearing their Shihakusho but their Zanpakutou were left at a side. Both had their right hands raised, each with the thumb, index and middle fingers pointing up while their ring finger and pinky were kept closed. They shut their eyes and maintained their focuses despite the cooling wind brushing through the trees, causing the leaves to rustle before some of them, both green and dead ones, were detached from the branches and danced in the wind. Neither of them were moving a muscle, nor were they making the first move, as they ignored everything around them.

They didn't how long they'd been standing in that position, but this had to come to an end. As soon as the wind stopped blowing, and the last leaf landed on the ground, Tadashi's eyes shot open. "Here I come!" he shouted. He clasped his hands together and said, "Bakudo #62 Hyapporankan!" With his hands separated and each held at both sides, he generated numerous blue-white glowing energy rods and propelled them towards Asa, who was prepared to deflect them with a Kidou spell.

"Bakudo #9 Horin!" Using her index and middle fingers, she generated an orange-hued tendril with spiraling yellow patterns, with one hand used to shatter all the rods and the other was aimed at the attacker, attempting to ensnare him.

As the energy tendril shot straight for him, he raised both hands towards it in a blocking motion. "Bakudo #39 Enkosen!" He generated a dull yellow energy that took the form of a large spinning disk of condensed in front of him, and it successfully blocked the attack, giving him the opportunity to leap up into the air.

The orange-hued tendrils disappeared from Asa's hands, and a smile plastered on her face as she recalled her last sparring session with the younger Shinigami prior to his exile. 'He has improved in using Kidou spells to counter another in time.' she noted, right before realising that he had fired an oblong blast of red energy at her, prompting her to leap to the side.

"Gotcha!" shouted Tadashi, who advanced towards her and began punching, though she was able to dodge every one of them. 'If I can land one hit...' he thought as his fists contacted nothing but thin air. However, when he punched with his right hand, Asa jabbed his nerve points, temporarily immobilising him. 'Shit!' he cussed. His eyes widened with shock when he felt her presence from behind.

"Well, there are some things that haven't changed." she commented with a sigh. Using her right hand, she extended her index and middle fingers in unison, jabbing into his upper arm, and released enough strength that was strong enough to send him flying several meters away from her as he tumbled on the ground, before regaining his composure.

'Asa-nee is still as strong as ever.' he noted with admiration. But there was no time for that, because the moment he blinked, the said woman was beside with her leg raised, preparing to kick him from his right side. He blocked it with the back of his hand, but she immediately spun around while in mid-air and used the other leg to kick him, which managed to hit him in the face as he was sent skidding to the side.

Asa landed on her feet and pointed her index and middle fingers at Tadashi while he was focused on trying to stand on his feet. "Bakudo #1 Sai!" At that moment, the latter's arms were locked behind his back and he fell on his knees, completely immobilised. No matter how much he struggled, he couldn't escape from the invisible binds and gave up, letting himself land on the ground with a pout as he released a mushroom sigh.

"I surrender." he declared sulkily. The female Shinigami saw his expression and giggled before releasing him from the spell, going over to help him up before releasing the barrier around them that protected the compound from getting destroyed. "You're so cool, Asa-nee!" His joyful expression then morphed into one of disappointment, with tears dramatically cascading down his cheeks. "But that means I still have a long way more to go."
