I woke up at 7 that Monday. Just like I do every school day. I yawned and stretched regretting staying up late again. Damn, I really need to sleep. I followed my regular morning routine. Get up, go to the bathroom, change and brush my hair, grab a water bottle, get my lunch then to brush my teeth. I sit in the car, forty five minutes later, attempting but failing miserably at trying to wake myself up. I pinched my arm, flicked my cheek and even slapped my face; nothing worked. I sighed and gave up. I knew it would be another regular day. Go to school. Come home, do homework, have dinner, go to bed. That's how my weeks in school usually went. And that's how that week continued, until Friday, Friday the 13th. Just kidding, it was the 15th.
I woke up that morning ready for my day to be the same dull day it always is. Yet something seemed, off. The hairs on the back of my neck pricked. I felt goosebumps rise over my body. It felt as if I was being watched. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. Why would anyone be watching me? So I continued with my usual routine. Still it felt like someone was in my room. I went to school that day, more alert then normal. Nobody else seemed to be acting different. Still, I knew there had to be something wrong with somebody. Why would it just be me? I kept looking behind me that day. I made sure that no one was following me. I'm not sure what people thought of me, they might've thought it was 'that time' for me and I was just paranoid. Or I was hearing things. Maybe they didn't notice at all. My question was finally answered after lunch. There was somebody else. Only one actually but I knew I wasn't alone.
I was sitting at the table with my friends, when Devin walked up to me, looked at all my friends and asked if he could talk to me in private. My friends giggled. Yes, he's my crush. I blushed and agreed, then followed him to a more private spot. He then asked,
"What's going on? Is it happening to you too? The feeling that you're being followed and watched but you can't see anyone? I saw you earlier constantly looking around."
I was so shocked I didn't know what to say.
"Well?" He asked impatiently. He must be worried, I thought.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. We need to find out what's going on. Keep your eyes open for anyone who looks paranoid too," I replied.
When he agreed, we walked back to my table where all my friends were laughing.
"See you later Misty, good luck."
