"Bye bye big sis~!" Momo exclaimed, waving off his sister and her husband as they left the Yuki and Momo apartment.
Momo's older sister, her husband and son had stayed over to celebrate the New year. It was for convenience, since there was an event his sister and parents wanted to go to a few days after.
The thing Momo was most excited for, wasn't the new years kiss with Yuki (even though he oh so enjoyed that) or the seeing his sister for the first time in a long time. It was actually babysitting his sister's three year old son, Akihito.
Momo and Akihito's first few days together had gone a bit rocky, since Akihito was shy. Eventually, he warmed up to Momo, though much more preferring Yuki.
Akihito had lovely pink eyes like Momo and his sister and he was relatively short for his age like the both of them too. He had soft brown hair and dimples that he inherited from his father.
"Be careful with him, Momo!" She called back, waving and then linking arms with her husband, disappearing down the hall.
Ahh, calm. Momo shut the door, feeling optimistic that the day was going to go amazingly. Excited, he walked into the living room and kissed Yuki's cheek.
A small thud caught the pair's attention and they looked to where little Akihito was standing. He'd dropped his bear on the floor and looked very afraid.
"W-where...mummy a daddy?" He asked, eyes brimming with tiny glistening unshed tears.
Heart literally sinking into his body, Momo crouched in front of Akihito and gently held the top of his arms below the shoulder.
"They've gone out for today, but you can stay here with uncle Momo and Uncle Yuki! Yaaay!" Momo said gently, excitedly grinning to Akihito.
First there was another sniffle and Momo thought he'd calmed the child down. Then, there was an outburst. Akihito cried loudly, tears and snot streaming down his face.
Panicked, Momo turned to Yuki for help, even though he knew fully well that Yuki was probably as clueless as him.
Yuki slowly approached the two and gently picked Akihito up, supporting his bottom with his right arm and his back with his left.
"Don't cry, Akihito-kun, they'll be back later. Let's have fun today, okay?" Yuki said softly, very gently rubbing the young boys shaking back.
After a few more sobs and a couple of sniffles, Akihito calmed himself and (to the disgust of Yuki) wiped his snotty nose on the much elders shirt at his shoulder.
"Now stay with uncle Momo while and go and find something for us to play, okay?" Yuki said, placing the small child back on the floor.
"Yuki-Darling~!!!!" Momo gasped, kissing his lips with a bit more force than intended. "How did you do that?" He whispered, wrapping his arms around Yuki's chest.
"I'm not really sure, But, don't be distracted from him for too long, okay?" Yuki whispered, pecking Momo's cheek and going to freshen up.
In the meantime, Momo distracted Akihito by playing a game of "boo!" behind the couch. Somewhere in very old boxes, during this time, Yuki had found a board game that they could play.
The only downside was that it was monopoly and there was no way Akihito would be able to understand that.
After a minute or so of negotiating with Akihito, he was put on a team with Momo, leaving Yuki to tactfully play himself.
Midway through the game, when Akihito was meant to out down a green house, it had somehow found its way into his mouth.
"Ahwa! No no no...Akihito That's not food!" Momo exclaimed, carefully squeezing it out of Akihito's mouth, feeling the slobber trickle onto his palm.
