Fresh out of the shower Lindsey reached for his clothes he had left laid out on the bed and dressed up. He returned to the bathroom again to spray some cologne on and try and tame his curls a bit. He sighed, looking at himself in the mirror, his hair wasn't cooperating. Lindsey hoped to sneak out of the house before Kristen returned, but as he was descending the stairs, she opened the front door meeting him.

"Where are you going?" Kristen asked, putting down her bags. She was out shopping. Again. "You smell good." She said, she could smell him from a distance.

"I'm going to Stevie's." Lindsey replied, holding his guitar case in one hand.

"What for?" Hands on her hips, Kristen raised an eyebrow at him.

"She's recording a solo album. Stevie asked me if I wanted to join her for a session. Or two." Lindsey added, seeing now harm in that.

"Since when are you so supportive of her solo career?" Now with her arms crossed Kristen asked.

"Don't make a big deal out of this." Lindsey shook his head, fighting back a roll of his eyes. "I told you, Stevie and I have been talking. This will be good for us, reuniting on a creative level as well. Fleetwood Mac might want to do another record too someday."

It was true. Stevie, like promised, didn't push Lindsey away after they'd returned from the tour. Since that night he visited her, Fleetwood Mac spent a lot of time together; talk shows, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, BRIT Awards, the Grammy awards - all of that happened in just two months and Stevie and Lindsey were practically inseparable.

Possible collaboration on Stevie's upcoming album came as a surprise for Lindsey. It wasn't a done deal though and he didn't truly expect to be featured on her record, but he couldn't say no to adding some guitar parts if she asked. The rivalry had been going on for too long and they both felt that maybe it was time to put an end to it.

"Aren't you going to ask me where I was?"

Sighing, Lindsey looked down at the bags and he shrugged his shoulders. "I have a guess."

"Lindsey." Kristen paused for a second. "You have to remember that you and I are together. Our relationship is serious. Stevie can be your colleague or a friend, but don't forget that if something happens between you two, I will walk."

"Are you threatened by her?" He shouldn't, but for some reason Lindsey found it quite amusing. "You don't have to worry, Kristen. I am with you. We've started dating before Fleetwood Mac went out on the road, we've been together for months. You've moved in with me. We're..." He trailed off, causing Kristen to raise her eyebrow again.

"You haven't told her yet, have you?"

"I-" Lindsey opened his mouth, then shook his head.

"You have to tell her, you know that right? If you two are such good friends, why wouldn't you want to share the wonderful news? What, don't you think Stevie wouldn't be happy for you? That perhaps she might get upset?" Lindsey didn't appreciate the tone of her voice. Before he could say something, Kristen continued. "I think it would be a lot worse if Stevie had to read about it in some magazine, don't you?"

"Alright." Holding his hand up, Lindsey said. "Stop this. I will tell her, when I feel the time is right."

"Why wait? You're going to see her now." Kristen shrugged, a smile plastered to her face. "I'm sure Stevie is going to be so happy to find out you're finally going to be a father."

"This is not your place to decide what and when I should do something, Kristen." Lindsey said sternly. "Stevie is my friend. She's a lot more than that and we have history together. Some subjects are more touchy than the others."

She scoffed. "Well, who's fault is it that her career was more precious to her than having a baby?"

"That's enough!" Lindsey couldn't help raising his voice. "You don't know her. You don't understand a lot of things, Kristen."

Breathing out heavily, Kristen threw her hands up in annoyance, picking up her bags before passing Lindsey to go upstairs. "Fine, whatever."

Taking a minute to compose himself, Lindsey walked out the front door and made his way to his car. Kristen was right, he knew that. He shouldn't have waited so long to tell Stevie. He just couldn't force himself to do it. He knew the look on her face would break his heart even if she did try to hide it.
