In just a few months, Hyunjin and I actually became really close friends to my surprise. Occasionally I felt bad for him because of my annoyingness though, but oh well, he's learned to deal with it.

After realizing I was about to be late to school, quickly threw on the nearest outfit I could find on the floor and ran into the kitchen, stuffing a doughnut in my mouth.

"Aerie! Come here!" I heard my dad call out to me from the living room.

"I know I'm late! I'm about to go now!" I yelled back.

"No, we need you now. We have a special surprise for you," my mom said.

"Ugh, okay," I groaned, rushing to the living room to get it over with. I hope what they had to say was more important than my education right now. The first thing I noticed when I entered the room was that there was a pile of suitcases and luggage by the front door. "Oh no, is Uncle Jeff coming to visit again? I hate that old rat," I whined.

"Okay first, no. Second, that's very rude, Uncle Jeff is perfectly more capable than a rodent. Third, the luggage is for our special guest," Mom announced, gesturing to behind the couch. That's when a girl stepped out with a cheerful smile on her face. But it wasn't just anyone...

"Lisa?!" I screamed. My mouth hung open in shock seeing my childhood best friend for the first time in years. I stood there, bewildered and internally cheering till my insides shook.

"Aerie!" Lisa cheered and ran over to hug me, squealing in delight.

I hugged her back, so tight I didn't want to let go ever again. "Oh my freaking toaster nuggets! What are you doing here?"

"My parents decided to move here for my dad's work!" Lisa grinned. "And do you wanna know the best part? I get to live here at your house for a couple of weeks until my mom and dad get everything settled with moving houses and mortgages and stuff."

"Seriously? That's great! Does that mean we get to go to the same school too?" I asked. Lisa nodded and we both cheered simultaneously. Honestly, I was completely shook.

My phone then buzzed in my pocket. Probably Hyunjin, I thought.

"Well, we should get going, my friend can take us both to school now," I said. As Lisa and I walked out to Hyunjin's car, my brain was still trying to process what was going on, and the fact that my best friend since fifth grade was really here with me now. I'm also going to use that as an excuse for why I rammed my head on the top of the car trying to get in.

"Wow, Aerie, no need to be so rude to my car," Hyunjin chuckled.

"Gee, thanks," I glared at him.

"And who's this?" He asked, nodding his head to Lisa.

"This is Lisa," I said, pulling her in the back seat with me. "She's an old friend of mine and will be going to school with us now too."

"Nice to meet you," Lisa shyly greeted.

"You too."
