On A Mission

The "Date"

          It was about 2:20 PM. Lana had finished cleaning almost every room in the entire house. Now, she was about to start getting ready for today. Currently, she was sitting in the living room, taking a break from all the cleaning. But, when she saw the time on her phone, she quickly got up and ran upstairs to her room. When she got to her bedroom, she quickly grabbed her towel to take with her into the bathroom. But, she stopped for a second. She looked at her closet. She hadn't thought about what she was going to wear. She sat her towel on her bed and walked over to her closet. She opened the door to her closet and walked inside a few steps. All she could see on the hangers were her many hoodies of different bright and dark colors. On the shelf above the hangers, she saw many pairs of folded sweatpants. She turned to her dresser that was against the wall, right next to her closet. She knew that it was only filled with T-shirts and pairs of jeans. She looked back in the closet. She looked down at the several pairs of shoes she had on the floor of the closet. She had no clue what to wear. She left the closet and walked over to her dresser. She opened the second drawer from the top, where half of her pairs of jeans were. She searched the drawer until she pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans that were ripped at the knees. She sat the pair of jeans on her bed. She walked back over to her dresser and opened the top drawer where half of her T-shirts were. She finally picked a plain white fitted T-shirt that was cropped an inch above her belly button. She walked back over to her closet. She looked down at her shoes and picked up her black high top Vans. She walked back over to her bed and sat the shirt on top of the jeans and the shoes on the floor, right underneath the clothes. She picked her towel back up and walked out of her room and into the bathroom.

          She plugged the her phone charger into the outlet on the wall by the toilet and connected her phone to it. She put the lid of the toilet down and set her phone and her towel on it. She walked over to the bathtub and turned the shower on. She took about 30 minutes in the shower. She had washed her hair so her hair was curlier than usual. She decided that she wanted to put leave-in condition in her hair and let it airdry so that it would keep its curl. After she dried off and wrapped her towel around her, she walked back into her bedroom. She grabbed a silicone brush off of her nightstand by her bed and walked back into the bathroom. She walked up to the mirror, opened it to see the small shelves that were behind it, and pulled out her leave-in conditioner, her contact lenses, and her moisturizer for her face. She took her glasses off and sat them on the sink. She opened the jar of skin moisturizer, dipped the tip of her finger into it, and began planting dots of it on her face. After there was enough moisturizer on her face, she started rubbing it in until it was completely invisible. Then, after washing the moisturizer off of her hands, she put in her contacts. She took one of the contact lenses onto her fingertip and brought it up to her right eye. She did the same for the left. She looked in the mirror at herself, seeing how she looked without glasses. She didn't know how to feel about her natural look. She looked back down at the leave-in conditioner. She unscrewed the top on the leave-in conditioner, took a blob of it in the palm of her hand, rubbed her hands together to evenly spread it out, and spread it through her hair. After she felt like she had enough leave-in conditioner in her hair, she grabbed the silicone hairbrush off of the sink and ran it through her hair, brushing her hair to the back. She saw her extremely curly hair become less curly, but not too straight, when she brushed it. After brushing all of her hair and looking in the mirror to fix anything she thought was wrong with the style, she went back into her bedroom to start getting dressed.

          When Lana got back into her room, she took her towel off, put on her undergarments, and put some lotion on before she began to get dressed. First, she pulled on her jeans. Then, trying not to mess her hair up or get her shirt wet, she pulled her shirt on. To see how her outfit looked, she walked over to her closet door and closed it to see her full-length mirror hanging from it. She looked at herself. She had never dressed like this before. She felt a little uncomfortable, but she also kind of liked how she looked in the outfit. After a few moments of looking at herself in the mirror, she had realized that she left her phone in the bathroom. She walked back into the bathroom to get it. When she picked it up she checked for what time it was. It was about 3:45 PM. She thought that leaving at about 5:00 PM would be a good idea. Until then, she went back downstairs to watch some TV. When she got to the living room, she turned on the TV and started watching a recording of her favorite show, Steven Universe.
