It was about 7:45 PM. Lana was still sitting on the couch in the living room, watching Steven Universe. Her parents were just walking in through the back door as the episode "Jungle Moon" began to play. "Hey, beautiful," says Lana's dad as he comes through the door first. "Hey dad," says Lana, not taking her eyes off of the TV. Lana suddenly feels a soft arm wrap around her shoulders. It was her mom, coming to give her a kiss on the forehead. Lana looks into her mom's eyes and gives her a soft smile. "So, that's what you did all day," Lana's dad says looking at the TV over his glasses. "Stop it," says Lana's mom, shooing away Lana's dad. "Do you feel any better from earlier," asks Lana's mom. Lana is silent for a moment before letting out a deep sigh. "Uh, yeah, mom I actually need to talk to you about something real quick." Lana's mom gets a worried look on her face. They locked eyes and both looked at Lana's father. He looks at the both of them. "Okay," he grunts, rolling his eyes sarcastically as he got up from the dining room chair that was right next to the living room. He began to walk up the stairs. After they both saw that he had walked all the way up the stairs, they looked at each other. Lana started talking.

"So... I saw Jarvis today," Lana says hesitantly. Her mom stared at her with a worried look on her face for a few seconds. There was a long silence. Lana was starting to get worried. "Mom," Lana says concerned. There was more silence. After a few minutes, Lana's mother speaks. But before she speaks she looks down at the floor with a sad look on her face. "I don't want you seeing that boy." There was a few seconds of silence after she said that. She began to get up and walk towards the stairs. "But mom I-" "Lana what the hell did I just say!" Lana's mother said turning around quickly to look at Lana with tears in her eyes. They stared at each other for a few moments. Lana's mom began to walk up the stairs. "Mom, I didn't mean to make you cry. I would never have any intention in seeing him," Lana tells her mother, reassuring her of her disinterest in the boy. "I don't wanna talk about this anymore," Lana's mother said with a shaky voice. Lana's mother continued to walk up the stairs until she got to her bedroom.

Lana was still sitting on the couch. She understood why her mom got so worked up. She had told her mom everything that had happened to her while she was in high school. Her mom was right there with her through all the emotional and mental breakdowns. She was her only and best friend.

Lana's eyes started to sting as they became glossy with tears. The memories of all the terrible feelings that boy had put her through started coming back. Lana turned off the TV, grabbed her bag of snacks, and started walking up the stairs to her room. As she was walking up the stairs, the tears started to run down her face. When she got to the top of the stairs she caught her mother standing in the doorway of her parents' room. Lana stopped. They both just stared at each other until her mother opens her mouth to speak. "That boy hurt you. And him hurting you hurt me. Do you know how much it pained me to see what he did to you? Do you know how hard it was for me to see you like that? All torn up inside," her mother said with a shaky voice. She sniffled before she continued. "Anyone who had treated you like that shouldn't be allowed in your life, I don't care if he's changed or not." Lana slowly nodded her head before walking into her room and closing the door behind her. She was alone in her room. No one was there to hear her try to painfully hold back her screaming cry.

Lana fell into her bed. She took her glasses of and sat them on her nightstand. Tears started streaming down her face. Her heart was beating out of chest. She didn't mean to get her mom so worked up. Her face was getting hot as the tears kept pouring down. She felt her eyes starting to get sore. All of a sudden she hears a bing  come from her pocket. It was her phone telling her that she had just received a text message. She wiped her tears away and sniffled a few times before she took her phone out of her pocket to see who it was. She started to squint at the blurry screen due to the tears that were still trying to fall out of her eyes and not having her glasses on. She took her glasses off of her nightstand and put them back on. Her vision was now clear enough to see that the message was from Casey.
