I didn't know where I wanted to go, but I was fuming. I couldn't stand rumors or the people that spread them. I had forgotten my cloak, and the wind was biting outside. Cursing my quick exit, I tramped along, hoping a plan would come to mind. Most of the shops were closed for the holiday. However, a dingy small pub with a sign overhead that read the Hog's Head had lights in the windows. I slipped in, letting the warmth engulf me.
"Ale please." I asked the bartender, "And a quill and a scrap of parchment if you have it." The gruff man grunted, slapped a quill and dirty piece of parchment on the bar, and slid over a mug of cheap looking ale. I sipped at the bitter liquid, fighting a grimace. Then sliding over a few coins to the bartender, I turned my attention to the parchment.
Professor,
Meet me at the Hog's Head tomorrow at four.

Then I rolled up the dirty scrap and got up again. I braced myself, stepping back out into the cold. Careful not to slip, I ran to the owl post. The tawny barn owl that hopped down on my shoulder hooted softly as he stuck out his leg.
"Take this to Professor Snape at Hogwarts, please." I instructed, tying the note on. The owl blinked at me with wide orange eyes in understanding before taking off. I watched the bird fly towards the school until it disappeared against the clouds. Then with a sigh, I trudged back towards the Three Broomsticks, cold to the bone and still fuming.
